This Sunday February 22nd the 9th annual Black Joy Parade and festival will be taking over the streets of Downtown Oakland for an unforgettable day of community, culture and creativity 🙌🏽

The Black Joy Parade is by far one of our favorite annual events in the Bay Area. We love seeing all the beautiful people in the streets coming together to celebrate Black people, Black expression and Black joy! 🙌🏽

What’s up Dreamers! 💭 As you know February is Black History Month. Throughout the month we’ll be highlighting Black Creators contributing to our community and using their unique gifts and talents to push the culture forward ✊🏽

First we have Golden Ratio () a Black, Brown and LGBTQ+ owned bar, lounge and event space dedicated to nourishing and expanding the bold q***r scene in the Bay Area. This vibrant and plush venue courtesy of renowned event visionaries DJ LadyRyan and Dennise Chakra Kan (.chakra_kan) provide a gathering space for people from all walks of life to connect, collaborate and celebrate. Make sure you slide thru their location and catch all the vibes. Located in Oakland 💫

Secondly we have Cafe Noir () a Black Owned cafe delivering soul and authenticity in every meal. Known for their rich flavors an outstanding comfort food, their dishes are guaranteed to satisfy any tastebuds. Pull up to their booth Prescott Market West Oakland and try their signature fried chicken sandwich and their potato hash. Ssssooooo ggggoooooddddd. Located in Oakland. 🤤

Lastly we have Hella Coastal () a former Black Owned brewery crafting refreshing beers for the culture has since pivoted into a highly sought after media agency helping local brands throughout the Bay Area expand their footprint and connect with their community through content creation. Hit them up for all of your creative needs. Based in Oakland 🌊

Six years ago we were in these Bay Area streets uniting and protesting against the corruption, greed and social injustices plaguing society. 🤬

Six years later nothing’s changed. It’s still power to the people and🖕🏽the system!

On this National Shutdown Day make sure you get out and support local and support your people! 🙌🏽

What’s up Dreamers! 💭 We’re starting off the first month of the new year showcasing a few creators in our home state that are contributing to the culture in a major way 🌅

First up we have The Cheese Board Collective a warm and welcoming worker owned bakery, pizzeria and cheese shop with a wide selection of mouthwatering baked goods, savory pizzas and flavorful cheeses to satisfy your taste buds. Make sure to check out their website for their pizza of the day and grab a tasty pastry while you’re at it. Located in Berkeley 😋

Next up we have Haus of Phenom a bold and innovative merch design company and lifestyle brand founded by legendary fashion designer and content creator Jon Phenom. The creative team at Haus of Phenom is dedicated to helping brands bring their vision to life in addition to cementing themselves as a legacy fashion label. We can’t wait to see what this rising brand has in store for 2026 and beyond. By way of LA ⚡️

Lastly we have Artsy Mamacita () a lively and expressive women owned boutique specializing in handmade jewelry, accessories and home goods inspired by her Latinx culture and deep Bay Area roots. Check out their pop up coming to a street festival near you. Representing Oakland 🌊
