Great shoot yesterday for "Reflections on Lake Merritt" with Dr Saturu Ned, a former member of the ‘Lumpen’, the Black Panther Party music group, and East Bay Yesterday's Liam O'Donoghue. Saturu discussed the "Free Huey" protests organized at the Alameda County Courthouse, the United Front Against Fascism conference and other events at the Oakland Auditorium, the Bobby Hutton memorial at Camron-Stanford House, Huey's apartment at 1200 Lakeshore, the many BPP survival programs, and his personal involvement in the Black Panther Party. It's a great addition to our project on the history of Lake Merritt and Oakland. Special thanks to the Camron-Stanford House for providing an ideal location!
