Full-page illustration for ‘Heartland Masala’, an Indian Cookbook from the American Midwest, written by Jyoti and Auyon Mukharji.

Jhulan Mukharji, husband of Jyoti and father of Auyon, shot photos of the two shopping in their local Indian grocery store. I used these snaps as reference for this drawing.

and the designer Laura Palese
