WOBL and WDLW Radio announce that long-time Sports Director, Don Vincent, has decided to retire at the end of the 2025 High School football season.
Don has been a part of the sports broadcast team with WOBL and WDLW for 27 years and played an integral role in the development and growth of the sports department.
We appreciate the dedication Don has displayed over the years, and we are saddened by the news that he will be retiring. Coverage of high school sports involves more than calling the game once a week, it’s building relationships with coaches and Athletic Directors and the development of a season schedule.
Over the past couple of years, the sports crew at WOBL and WDLW have grown to over 25 employees, tripling in size, and from covering two games a week to four.
In a message to the sports crew Don thanked the crew “for being on board and propelling WOBL WDLW Sports and the Lorain County Sports Network to the top. This is great team, and I
look forward to seeing what's next for the stations.” He went on to thank owners Gary and Reneé (Tollett) for not only buying in, but for supporting and helping to develop the vision.
Don plans to spend his free time with family. If you've been around Don over the years, you've likely heard him say, “that when I'm done broadcasting, I'll walk away with a smile because I had the opportunity to do it, and it's been so much fun.”
Moving forward, Dave Rivera will assume the role of Sports Director for WOBL and WDLW and Max Drummond will move into the role of Assistant Sports Director.
