Once we are aware of the roles we are in, we are able to relate to them just as they are - roles - and open up room for something deeper to happen.

We need to create room to separate them from our identity.
And …
That we need perspective and support in order to do so.

Why?
Because, our minds have convinced us that safety lies in shutting us off from our bodies and that leaving the narrative our minds created will cause harm.

It does this to protect us.

Initially, this is a helpful - it helped us survive life experiences and trauma.
Long term it is unhelpful - it keeps us in bo***ge.

What have you felt in your body as you read this?
Was it uncomfortable?
This matters … it means your body is trying to tell you something.

Roles aren’t wrong.

Actually, they are quite important to our lives. It is when a particular role becomes our identity that we have lost course. We become slaves to them. We slowly over time convince ourselves that we are nothing without them.

Taking inventory of the various roles we play is an important first step. Simply listen them out, without judgement.

Now that you’ve made a list, ask yourself … why?
Why am I in this role? Did I take it on intentionally? Am I holding it tightly or loosely?

From there we can begin to break down how the role came to define us and what we need in order for us to free ourselves from that particular role (or roles) defining us.

We can then exhale and align who we are with what we do instead of what we do being who we are.

Wife and mother were the roles that had the strongest grip on me. When I broke down my “why” I found the roots of this in programming and trauma from childhood.

Some of it was subtle, some was blatant. Some came from lack, some from fear.

Sifting through this and developing the confidence to be me too time and a great deal of work.

Support as we untangle what we truly believe and want from what we are programmed to believe or our trauma responses, is critical.

So many women confuse performance with identity and roles with truth.

We learn who we’re supposed to be …
the caregiver, the achiever, the peacemaker, the strong one.

Over time, those roles can begin to feel like who we are.
But roles are often shaped by survival, expectation, and belonging
not alignment.

Performance asks:
Who do I need to be to stay safe, needed, or approved?

Alignment asks:
Who am I when my body is regulated, nourished, and at ease? Who am I without the adaptive behaviors?

This is why identity work without body awareness feels exhausting.
And why nourishment, safety, and alignment come first.

Identity isn’t a role you play.
It’s a truth you remember.

Many women tell me they don’t know who they are anymore.
Not because something is wrong, but because we spent years being who we needed to be.

When our identity is built around roles, expectations, or trauma it eventually feels hollow.

Aligned & Nourished creates safety in the body.

From that safety, identity begins to emerge, not be forced.

We don’t need to reinvent ourselves.

We need to know it’s safe to come home.

Before we dive into identity, we must first feel safe in our bodies.

All too often, we start the journey of figuring out who we are while living disconnected from ourselves.
We cannot unveil our identity through force or effort. Instead, we must feel our way back to what has been there all along.

Presence, nervous system regulation, and nourishment all guide us back.

Aligned & Nourished is a place where women can begin to feel who they are by gently shedding the many layers of conformity.

It is then that identity can begin to come back into focus.

This week, we’re talking about what it really means to know who you are.

Aligned and nourished seems to have become a mantra of sorts for me these last several days.
You see it as a thread through most of my recent posts.

I’ve done this intentionally.

Alignment isn’t something we force, it’s something we remember.
Nourishment isn’t something we earn it’s something we are worthy of.

Aligned & Nourished is a 10-week course for women who are ready to connect who they are to what they are worthy of.

Our time together will not be just about nutrition or fasting.

We will be supporting you as you are reconnecting to your body, your rhythms, and your sense of self.

*Weekly guidance
* Community with other women on the same path
* Deeply rooted approach to healing

This course is for any woman looking to fully embody herself with the support of coaching and community.
If that’s you, enrollment is now open.

There is something profoundly healing that comes through allowing other women to witness and support us. The tragedy is that many of us shy away from groups of women because we have been so profoundly hurt by women. It can take a solid amount of bravery to step back into a space where women witness your transparency and vulnerability.

In the words of previous participants …

“ … the support of a fantastic group of women was something I never knew I needed. Amazing experience.”

“The community of women you will have is an incredible gift.”

Aligned and Nourished is more that a course. It is a women-only container rooted in compassion, shared experience, and deep care.

You were never meant to walk this road alone.
Support changes the way healing unfolds.

If we listen, our bodies will tell us almost everything we need to know about ourselves. When we are in alignment with our bodies we can recognize the cues it’s giving to help support and guide us through life.

Unfortunately, all too often we are disconnected from our bodies; we’ve lost our communication with it. We are numb to it.

This happens gradually over time for any number of reasons. Regardless of the reason, reconnection is possible. Once we’ve reconnected we can re-learn or for many of us learn for the first time how to navigate life as a whole woman.

Our gut has a major impact on our mental and emotional health.

One of the most “talkative” parts of our bodies is our gut microbiome. Trauma, grief, prolonged stress all dramatically throw our bodies and gut out of whack. A key part of our healing process must be resetting our gut. When we reset and properly care for it we open up clear channels that help create stability in our hormones, emotions, and thinking.

I’d love to hear how you’ve reconnected with your body or support you through the process of resting and reconnecting.

Real healing happens when you support the whole person. We are our mind, body, and soul. In order to fully live we must bring the parts of us into alignment. Aligned and Nourished is more than a course, it’s a guided, safe space of transformation.

“Honestly, this course … and all of you … have indeed been life changing. My relationship with food … a disastrous one from the get-go … is now in a good place. And the relief from that ALONE is immense. I learned so much about my body … it seriously blew my mind. Just wow.” - Aligned and Nourished Participant.
Healing isn’t just about any one piece of ourselves, it’s about bringing mind, body, and soul together.
This journey is about understanding your body, listening to it, and finally feeling at peace with yourself — without forcing, restricting, or compartmentalizing. It’s about discovering what truly nourishes you, from the inside out.
Your relationship with food, your energy, your clarity, your mood ….. they’re all connected. When you start to honor the whole you, the relief, joy, and insight that follow are life changing.
