The Beatles released The White Album 45 years ago today and is still considered one of the greatest records of all time - it is ranked #10 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums list. The album marked the return of their rock-n-roll sound after the psychedelic experiments Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and the follow-up Magical Mystery Tour. Oh, music industry. All in the game, though.

Many have noted the similarity between Marvin Gaye's "Got to Give It Up" and Robin Thicke's song-of-the-summer smash hit "Blurred Lines," and now Thicke has gone on the offensive to ensure that the sonic likeness of the two songs doesn't end up costing him any money.

A very confused Virginia Tech student wrote to Sub Pop Records wanting Nirvana to send a shout out video to the school for a homecoming collage video. Apparently the student is unaware that Nirvana hasn't been around for almost 20 years (feel old yet?) and that Kurt Cobain is dead...or a man.
