Most people don't mind hearing that the world is broken. They don't mind hearing that people need help. They don't even mind hearing that sinners need grace.
The hard part is realizing you're one of them.
That's when the Gospel becomes personal.
The Gospel tells us something our pride doesn't want to hear: we can't save ourselves. But it also tells us something our souls desperately need to hear: Jesus can.
The bad news is that we're more sinful than we'd like to admit. The good news is that we're more loved than we can imagine.
That's why the Gospel offends our pride and saves our souls at the same time.

Most people say they want the truth, but what they really want is a version of the truth that doesn't ask anything from them.
A truth that doesn't require forgiveness. A truth that doesn't require repentance. A truth that doesn't require change.
The problem is that real truth changes us.
That's why Jesus wasn't rejected because people couldn't understand Him. He was rejected because people understood exactly what He was saying and didn't want to surrender to it.
The truth can cost you your pride, your excuses, and your old way of living. But it can also give you something the world never could: freedom.
That's why following Jesus isn't always easy.
But it is worth it.

"Follow your heart" sounds like good advice until you look around and see where it's gotten us.

If our hearts naturally knew the way, why do we keep ending up lost? Why do we keep chasing things that leave us empty? Why do we keep looking for peace in places that can't give it?

The truth is, our hearts change constantly. What feels right today can feel completely wrong tomorrow.

That's why Jesus never told people to follow their hearts. He told them to follow Him.

The world says the answer is somewhere inside of us. Jesus says the answer is found in Him.

One path leaves people searching. The other leads them home.

We all know what hunger feels like.
When you're hungry, you keep looking for something to fill it.
I think that's what a lot of people are doing with their lives.
We tell ourselves the next thing will finally be enough. More money. More success. More attention. More experiences. More relationships.
But if the last thing didn't satisfy us, why are we so sure the next thing will?
Maybe that emptiness isn't something to be ignored.
Maybe it's trying to tell us something.
Maybe the reason nothing in this world fully satisfies us is because we were made for more than this world can offer.
The truth is, every soul is hungry for something.
For purpose. For peace. For love. For meaning.
And that hunger will keep leading us somewhere.
The question is whether it leads us deeper into the world or closer to the One who made us.
Jesus didn't come to offer another distraction.
He came to offer life.

Most people spend their whole lives chasing money, fame, attention, success—thinking one day it’ll finally make them feel fulfilled. But the people who actually get those things are often some of the most broken people in the world. They have everything this world tells us to chase, and they’re still empty. Still restless. Still miserable.

You see it everywhere—addiction, depression, broken marriages, su***de, people destroying themselves while having everything everyone else wants.

Because none of it can actually satisfy the soul.

We were never made for money to fulfill us. Or fame. Or attention. We were made for God.

That’s why people can gain the whole world… and still feel like something’s missing.

Only Jesus fills what this world never can.

Some of us are exhausted in ways nobody sees. We smile, talk, go to work, hang out with people, scroll all day, and still go to bed feeling empty. We keep trying to distract ourselves from whatever this feeling is, hoping the next thing, the next person, or the next phase of life will finally fix it. But it never really does.

And after a while, you stop asking if something’s wrong and just start living with it.

That’s the part that gets people.

Jesus didn’t come just to make you more religious or give you better habits. He came because something in us really is broken, and no amount of money, attention, relationships, or success can fix it.

But He can.

Jesus really does change lives.

Most of us spend our lives terrified of losing things—money, relationships, stability, the life we built for ourselves. We hold onto everything so tightly because we think if those things fall apart, we will too.
But the older I get, the more I realize none of those things were ever enough to hold me together in the first place.
People leave. Money comes and goes. Life changes fast. Things fall apart when you least expect them to.
Jesus is the only thing that’s never failed me.
And there’s something freeing about realizing that if everything around you disappeared tomorrow, but you still had Him… you wouldn’t actually have nothing.
You’d still have what matters most.

At first, it feels like Jesus is asking us to give up the things we want. The habits, the attention, the pride, the lust, the control, the version of life we thought would make us happy. But over time, we start to see it differently. He wasn’t trying to take life from us. He was freeing us from the things that were slowly taking life out of us. What felt like sacrifice was really mercy. What felt like loss was really freedom. That’s how good Jesus is.

I tried to make something out of my life. I had plans, I had goals, I thought if I worked hard enough I could turn it into something good. But no matter how much I tried, it never felt like enough. Something was always off.
Then I gave my life to Jesus.
And He did more with it than I ever could.
Not because I figured it out… but because I finally stopped trying to be the one in control.

We’re always looking for something to follow. We put people on pedestals, copy what they do, hang on their words. We chase money, status, attention—whatever makes us feel like we’re finally getting somewhere. We build our lives around it without even thinking. Whatever we put above God becomes our god. And the crazy part is, we don’t even realize we’re doing it. You can see it right now—people treat celebrities like they’re more than human, almost like they’re something to look up to on that level. We just keep searching, keep chasing, and something still feels off. That’s not random. We weren’t made to be filled by any of that. We were made for God. And while we’re out here creating things to follow, the one true God has been right here the whole time.
