Special Oceanside neighborhood update from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Thank you, Commissioner Seggos & Cathy A. Haas, for protecting the residents of Oceanside & our environment. It’s a pleasure working with you. We are confident Cousin Metal Industries will comply, and we thank them for their cooperation. We couldn’t have done this without the residents of Oceanside supporting this movement with sign-ups at savingoceanside.org.

We aim not to shut down any recycling facility or industrial warehouse in Oil City. Our goal is compliance. Cousins metal industry jumped to the top of our priority list after their recent fire trapped two of our Oceanside firefighters by fallen storage debris. Additionally Neighbors alerted us of multiple explosions in past years inside the facility.

We are hopeful the town of Hempstead building department is watching. We are confident the councilwoman of the fourth District, Councilwoman Laura Ryder is watching. The town of Hempstead needs to follow suit as New York State has gone above and beyond. We expect the same from the town and the councilwoman’s team at 1 Washington Street.

Details on Lawson blvds underground event space shutdown this past Sunday at 3563 Lawson blvd will be released on Instagram.

It was a pleasure working with Lt. Solin of the 4th precinct, who met with us outside the facility before his entrance Sunday night. We shared with him multiple complaints submitted through our platform and our findings on the scene before his arrival.

LT. Solin went above & beyond, pulling in necessary resources from the Town of Hempstead code enforcement and the Nassau County Fire marshals office. Once again, we thank each of you for believing in our platform. We promise to keep Oceanside moving in the right direction as one of the safest places to live on Long Island. ❤️ if you’re thinking about operating in our town illegally in any fashion, you will soon begin to think twice📈🇺🇸📈

At request of the public, we will continue to release facts related to our quality of life efforts in Oceanside. Please see our recent email to the Oceanside Fire Destrict updating them on New York States recent findings related to Storage of material, at Patriot recycling facility.

On December 12th we will be voting for change, 3-9pm Oceanside Fire department headquarters. Neighbors sign up now savingoceanside.org for the latest news related to quality of life here in our beloved town. 📈

As requested by a viewer, here are factual documents we wish to share with you related to 460 Brown Courts activity log, as well as reports from the past two explosions. We thank the Nassau County Fire Marshals office for sharing this information with us ❤️

Pay special attention to the frequency of inspections and findings after explosions in 2013 and 2014. Keep in mind this is only inspections done by the Nassau County fire marshal office. We have recently FOIL requested records from the Oceanside Fire Destrict related. We will keep the public updated here as the district access for an extension earlier this week.
