The North County Transit District (NCTD) Coastal Rail Service between San Diego and Oceanside will be suspended between January 10th-11th and the 24th-25th. The Board of Friends of the Oceanside Public Library celebrated a Generous Presentation of over 1,500 books donated to the Oceanside Fire Department by Member Jeff Robinson. The books will be dispersed to each of the Nine Fire Stations throughout the City of Oceanside. Jeff is still purchasing books, and the Oceanside Firefighters look forward to reading on their downtime to help with their Mental Wellness!

Recycle right this New Year, Oceanside! Waste Management is collecting Natural Holiday Trees to recycle on your regular service day through January 16th. Remove all lights, decorations, and tree stands from your tree before recycling and place it in either the Organics Cart with the lid completely closed or next to the Landfill Cart curbside. Only Natural Trees are recyclable, so Flocked and Artificial Trees must be placed in the Landfill Cart. For more information, visit greenoceanside.org.

Oceanside Parks and Recreation Director Manuel Gonzalez spoke with us about the recent new and updated beach volleyball courts installed at Harbor Beach by tower 18! The courts are free to use, and can be rented for team/tournament use with adjustable nets. We hope you have some fun on the sand in the new year!
