In remembrance of today, we are announcing our first book, Mary Alice and Operation Boat Lift.
Mary Alice is part of the Harbor Heroes who went towards the danger 20 years ago today. As the towers fell, hundreds of thousands of people were stranded on Manhattan Island. The United States Coast Guard put out a call for all available mariners to come to Ellis Island. Mary Alice was one of the many ships who responded.
9/11 became the largest sea evacuation in world history carrying over 500,000 people to safety in under nine hours.
Today we are remembering all those lost and those who heroically went towards the danger to save others.
We will never forget!
