#1 FOXES BOUNCE BACK IN A BIG WAY, BABCOCK TWIRLS NO-HITTER AGAINST KIMBERLY
By W7 Staff
The response from Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes was loud, dominant, and unmistakable Monday night.
After dropping two of their previous three games against elite competition, the Foxes returned home and reminded everyone exactly why they sit atop Division 2 rankings, blanking the Kimberly Papermakers 8-0 behind a sensational no-hit performance from Madison Babcock.
Babcock was untouchable from the opening pitch to the final strikeout, not allowing a single hit while closing the game by striking out Breckan Luedke for the final out. The ace controlled the circle all night and delivered one of the most dominant outings of the Wisconsin softball season.
The Foxes broke the game wide open in a chaotic seven-run second inning that turned a close contest into a runaway.
The rally featured aggressive baserunning, pressure defense, and timely hitting. Natalie Bromm delivered an RBI single, but the biggest blow came moments later when Kinley Peterson launched a three-run homer to center field, sending the Foxes dugout into celebration mode and pushing the lead firmly in FVL’s favor.
The Foxes added another run in the third inning when Lexi Hanson ripped an RBI single down the left field line.
Peterson finished with three RBIs to pace the offense, while Paige Leavitt led the Foxes with two hits. Defensively, FVL played flawless softball behind Babcock, committing no errors on the night.
Kimberly pitcher Bella Ellestad battled through six innings, allowing eight runs — though only one was earned — while striking out four.
