A memorial service for Carol Ann Nygaard will be held at 11 a.m. Friday Oct. 17, 2025, at Faith United Church in Gillett with Pastor John Laatsch officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be held at Wanderers Rest Cemetery at a later date.

Noah Lasley, a senior at Lena High School and a member of the Lena FFA, gathered more than 70 volunteers to pack 41,760 meals at the Nurses Nook recently. The meals will remain in Oconto County, benefiting the Lena, Suring, Gillett, Oconto Falls and Oconto school districts.

Reference: Green Alert – Attempt to Locate

The Oconto County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating US Army Veteran Trevor H. Miotke of Lakewood, WI. Miotke is a 28-year-old white male, with height averaging 6’03”, weighing approximately 195 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen around 10:00 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, near the 15000 block of Maiden Lake Rd, Town of Mountain, WI, wearing khaki shorts, a t-shirt, and Crocs or sandals. His exact whereabouts are unknown at this time and all attempts to locate the subject have been unsuccessful.

A photo of Mr. Miotke is attached, however his hair may be longer.
