Just sitting here, waiting for August so I can enter the fog again. Yesterday's Stranger Things house announcement has me dreaming of Halloween Horror Nights.

Fun fact: I used to be the biggest scaredy cat as a kid. When Trick-or-Treating, I would walk with my eyes fixed on the ground so I didn't see anyone in a mask. If I saw someone in a mask, I would run the other way...latex or hockey mask a la Jason... didn't matter. I couldn't watch certain Scooby Doo episodes or Michael Jackson's Thriller music video without nightmares for weeks.

However, something changed around 16 and now I see jump scares a mile away. It's hard to actually scare scare me. While others find HHN terrifying, I find it delightful and exciting when a scare actor actually catches me off guard.

What's your take on haunted houses?

Price watching...I love it! Of course, it's a benefit you get when you book through me, but it's something I have always done for myself and now I get to do it for others.

Regardless of how much money you may or may not make, it's hard to pass up a good deal. However, if you're not watching, the price may get better.

When people book their own trips, most stop paying attention to the price the minute the confirmation email is in their inbox unless a huge promotion is announced and they happen to see it. If they do see it, they may be too busy to call in and ask for the lower price.

Not only do my services help with the planning, but I also make sure that any applicable promotion gets added to vacations without you having to do anything outside of your normal, daily routine.

Group trips...most never actually make it out of the group chat even though all members are excited about the prospect. Sometimes the trip is planned too early or late. Sometimes everything falls to one person who gets overwhelmed or maybe there's too many people getting involved it becomes difficult to agree on something. Sometimes it's not talking about money early enough.

There really is something special about traveling with a group of people you know (and like). From office groups to weddings to multigenerational families, I love helping groups make sure their trips get out of the group chat and happen. Nothing is more important than spending quality time with people you care about.

If you have a group travel idea that you'd like to see jump out of the chat, let's talk. I will handle the logistics and you'll get the praise.

One of the most important things about travel is the little details as they are most likely to get overlooked.

On a recent trip to Indiana to help out family, I flew on flights with layovers like a lot of people do. However, since BWI has a ton of direct flights, I tend to gravitate towards those. In this case, because I had to purchase tickets closer to the departure date than I typically like, flights with layovers were half the price of the direct flights.

While I was choosing my flights, I was taking into account the airport in which I would have my layover and the amount of time I would have to change planes (and whether I would need to change planes). Most people just worry about seat preferences.

I opted for airports that I knew were not busy on the days I was flying or huge. The most important thing was to ensure that my layovers were at least an hour and a half since all flights would be domestic. The timing of the layover paired with smaller airports decreased the chances of me having to run to the next gate if my first flight was a little delayed. If you have ever had your name called over the speakers of the airport while you were running, you know the kind of hellish anxiety that takes over. Both times my layovers were pleasant and allowed me just enough time to get some fresh air and food before stepping back onto the plane without feeling rushed.

Little things matter. What little details have you overlooked and paid for?
