Stevie Nicks didn’t just step into the spotlight in 1989 she stepped into her own fairytale.
That sweeping red gown against the black-and-white checkerboard feels like a scene from another world. Mysterious, dramatic, and unmistakably Stevie. She always had a way of making fantasy feel personal, as if every outfit, every lyric, and every glance held a story only she could fully tell.
And The Other Side of the Mirror was more than a beautiful era visually. Inspired in part by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, the album gave us “Rooms on Fire,” “Alice,” and “Long Way to Go” songs that showed another fascinating side of Stevie’s imagination.
That’s what makes her so timeless to me. Decades pass, musical trends change, but Stevie still feels like someone who lives by her own rules, somewhere between dreams and reality.
Be honest, fellow Stevie fans does “Rooms on Fire” deserve more love than it gets today?
