She is me. My legs still feel like Jello!!!
I’ve hydrated, salt bathed, vitamin supplemented, added stretching and have done a few rounds of massage therapy.
Yesterday I was getting off the truck and I was slowly sliding down to avoid bending my knee because all the pain would shoot up my whole leg. I hear a sweet voice say “oh no, do you need help? I can help you get off” I look up and it’s this older woman early to mid 50’s. 🤦♀️I tell her no I’m ok. 🙂
I was so embarrassed 🙈! Haha I thought wow she was so kind!! I loved it. But damn I must look really fu**ed up if she is asking me if she can assist me!” Hahaha
This is a great reminder that sometimes it just takes time… There is no fast track “next day” healing ❤️🩹. We sometimes want to heal so fast but the body doesn’t comply. Today is day 4 since the hike and I have isolated pain in both calves, in one Quad and on the other Hamstring.
As a LMT we say, one massage isn’t the magical answer. We do recommend other sessions for a reason. These pesky knots start to come up after we’ve released over all tension. Today I’ll be working on the isolating pain. This will be my 5th massage since the hike. What I can say is, had I not done anything I’d still be laying in bed and the pain would be going for another week at the very least, I pushed my body pasted it limits on that Guadalupe hike. My body is definitely reminding me of that fact with every passing day. But it also reminds me how much the after care matters too.
The gratitude that it took me so far up and back is shown by the amount of effort I’m putting back into my body. Massages works wonders. But only if you are consistent 🥳💕💆♀️
Are you struggling with chronic pain?
Do you want to feel a difference in your body?
*I recommend at least 3 continuous sessions for your body to notice a change in how it moves, and on how it responds.
Will it hurt?
*Short answer most likely. The body has been holding on to tension for a long while. It most likely might be sore as the muscles are being worked on.
How long will it take my body to heal?
* only your body has the answer to that question. Every body (pun intended ). Heals at its own pace.
What massage is recommended?
* here at the studio, I recommend the Overhaul massage!
If you book with a different LMT , a Deep Tissue or a sports massage. Will be your best option.
Will I need more massage therapy in the future?
*That depends on your goal towards your wellness journey. Massage is recommended as a lifestyle. But if you can only do tuneups, then that is fine too. Our body is a machine that is constantly in motion. Just like a vehicle it needs to be worked on to keep the muscles energized and engaged.
Is massage the only option?
*Absolutely not. Making sure you’re hydrated or you are stretching taking vitamins, supplements, physical therapy, chiropractic work even emotional and spiritual healing does wonders for the body when you combine all of that together you do see a transformation not just in your physical body, but somewhere deeper within..
