This guy was like 7000 people's boss in the Ogden area, but if you've never worked at IRS you probably don't know him.

Ogden IRS is a community within a community, and even though it's Weber County's biggest employer, we don't really talk about it a lot.

Turns out there are a bunch of stories to tell.

Jerry Heschel was SP Director, AM Director, National SP Director. He led major actions like RIFs, reorgs, and sweeping process changes. He was lead negotiator on National Agreements opposite the union. He is an expert at doing things by the book.

Government isn't bloated because it's wasteful; it's bloated because it's accountable. They never know when some elected official will come around asking for receipts.

Which do you think costs more: 1) Having cops wake these people up, housing them in an expensive jail, sending them to court, trying to collect fees they won’t pay. 2) Building some bare bones apartment complex where they can sleep safe and warm.

I was once told that there is plenty of money available for housing the homeless, but most cities resist having a high concentration homeless facility because of economic factors.

On the other hand, we’ve seen what high concentration homeless facilities can look like. We’ve seen the tents and congregations outside of the lantern house. Would that really work in residential areas?
