The Ogden alum earns a massive honor.

I joked Sunday night that the only other trophies of this size that I have are old 4-H ones from the Boone County Fair.

If you haven’t heard, KCCI won another three Midwest Emmys up in the Twin Cities this past weekend. One of them was for my weather coverage.

Getting an award is cool – especially working in your home state. I think it’s also a good time to remind yourself that no one ever achieves anything alone.

In my case – family members who supported my career aspirations, teachers who helped me learn everything from math & science to being in front of an audience, meteorologists who took me on as an intern, coworkers who were always encouraging, bosses who gave me resources & flexibility, and producers who said “yes” when I asked for an extra 30 seconds of their newscast.

…and sports anchors who I sometimes stole 30 seconds from accidentally.🙂

Anyway, thank you for watching & reading my stuff and everyone else’s at KCCI. I’m sure there will be more exciting Iowa weather to cover this coming year!

This afternoon saw a lot of Homecoming festivities for Ogden. First was the parade which rolled through downtown. Then the focus shifted to the gym as a pep rally was held. Following the pep rally was the Top Dogs induction ceremony. To conclude the afternoon was the coronation of this year's king and queen. The honors went to Jase Coleman and Aubrey Leonard. Tonight, Ogden welcomes in West Central Valley for the football game with kickoff set for 7 p.m.

This morning on Highway 169 north of Highway 30 saw the ribbon cutting at Boone County's newest dairy, the Sundae Morning Dairy. The dairy features Brown Swiss cows and offers Grade A milk. There is a public open house on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Their address is 849 D Ave Ogden, IA.
