Breaking Ankles, NOT Ties ⚽️🦅

IVCC and Black Hawk College finished in a 0-0 tie after a highly aggressive rivalry-driven matchup led to injuries on Wednesday evening.

Yesterday’s draw pushes the Eagles to a season record of 2 wins, 3 losses with a single tie (2-3-1). Placing them T-12th in their division just under the 11th place Malcom X Hawks. Illinois Valley was looking to take that title from the Hawks at their place this Saturday up in the Windy City of Chicago at noon, although it has been reported that Malcom X had scheduling issues. The game has been postponed to October 8 with and the start time marked as TBA. The Eagles next game is scheduled for Tuesday against the 3-2 Parkland Cobras in Champaign.

Illinois Valley Community College softball player Emma Augustine, a 2-year starting shortstop from Streator, has earned regional and conference athletic honors.

Augustine earned a spot on the 3rd Team All-Region Team for National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 4 for the 2025 season and was also named to the Arrowhead Conference All-Conference Team.

Augustine had an outstanding season with the Eagles, leading the team with a .450 overall batting average and .589 within conference play. She also led the team in hits, triples and on-base percentage, while finishing second in doubles, home runs, and slugging percentage.

"Emma’s game has transformed greatly over the past year. She really matured at the plate and went from hitting ninth last season to being our lead-off hitter this year. She led the team in many categories and set the tone for many of our games,” Eagles softball coach Cory Tomasson said.
