CREATING MUSIC | Lalo Schifrin, the five-time Grammy-winning composer of more than 100 television and movie theme songs, died on June 26, but his impact on young Ojai musician Scott MacDonald endures. Schifrin wrote the classic TV show themes for “Mission: Impossible,” “Mannix” and “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.”

His film scores included “Bullitt,” “Cool Hand Luke” and “Dirty Harry.” He received six Oscar and four Emmy nominations for his movie music.
