Anca Colbert first entered the burgeoning Los Angeles art scene in 1973 as a private dealer and fine art distributor/publisher specialized in French and European modern and contemporary works of art on paper. In 1985 she moved from her first location at 8271 Melrose Ave. and opened the doors to her new public gallery at 7278 Beverly Blvd. with expanded activities and shows, representing and exhibi

ting modern and contemporary European, North American and South American painters, print-makers, sculptors and ceramic artists. As an art adviser and consultant located in the Ojai-Ventura area since 1993, she offers experienced guidance and practical solutions with an international perspective to a diverse clientele in the art world. He walked on water, and made millions "imagine" art outside and inside of his dreams. We "became" a part of his dreams.
What he and Jeanne-Claude did was original, iconoclastic, significant, magnificent, joyful, inspirational, transformational. Monumental, yes.
Christo died today. The memories will live on. With awe and gratitude.

The artist Christo died at his home in New York City on Sunday. He's known for major outdoor art installations that often involved wrapping buildings and elements of nature in fabric.

Here's the new reality: galleries, museums and art fairs have been temporarily closing theirs doors and postponing events. And that's a good thing given the current risks of contagion. Experiencing it in person would be a dream come true for this lover of his work; hoping to be able to do that, one day.
