This is not an easy post for me to make, because we truly hate asking for help. We love what we do, and we love being able to support and showcase our incredible student athletes across our communities.

This Friday, the State Softball Tournament gets underway, and the Brewster Bears take the field at 9:00 a.m. We would absolutely love to be there to bring those games to our listeners and community. There is also the possibility of covering the Okanogan boys baseball game instead at 10:00 a.m. on Friday as well.

The reality is, though, there are costs that come with broadcasting these events — tournament broadcast fees, fuel, equipment, and potentially lodging if games run late into the evening. At this point, we simply do not have the support lined up that we need to make it happen.

As much as we wish we could cover everything, we are only one radio station and can only be at one game at a time.

No matter what happens, we are proud of these athletes and the seasons they’ve had. We’re just hoping we can find a way to be there to tell their story.

State competitions are getting underway all across Washington today. We’ll be going live at 10:45 this morning on River to Ridge Sports Radio with coverage of local student-athletes competing at the State Golf Championships. We’ll bring you the latest information we have on golfers from around our area in the 1B, 2B, and 1A classifications, and keep you updated on how our local athletes are performing on the state stage.

The view is always good out the office window… but it’s even better when you’re blessed enough to put on a headset, sit behind a microphone, and call games for some of the greatest kids on the planet. Every pitch, every play, every moment is a reminder of just how special high school sports really are. Grateful for the memories, the friendships, and the chance to tell these stories from the best seat in the house. 🎙️⚾❤️
