I recently laid an artificial lawn. Here are some things I found out:
Laying a lawn alone is a difficult, but not impossible, task.
A 6m x 5m cut comes as one piece.
It's heavy.
Two 3.25m wide membranes laid side by side do not cover a width of 5.8m.
It takes 2.5 hours and 97 pegs to lay and pin a membrane.
You do not need to invest in a rubber mallet to hammer in the pegs, a claw hammer does the job.
The piece of skin between the thumb and forefinger is called a thenar web space.
The thenar web space turns black when hit by a claw hammer.
Buy a rubber mallet to hammer your pegs in, if you don't already have one.
It takes approximately 4 hours, 68 pegs and 5 Stanley blades to lay 6m x 5m artificial grass.
Artificial grass is difficult to cut.
Hand flesh slices easily.
Wear gloves!
Hounds love fake grass.
