For live performance + patch orchestral recordings, the day of the recording is spent with producer going over all the notes from the post dress rehearsal meeting, checking the timing of sections and movements, marking any changes, and coming up with a patch session schedule in priority order.

We bounce a recording of last night’s rehearsal with mixes focusing on each section of the orchestra (choir, soloists, strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion), and C goes through each one to figure out where we’ll need to focus on for the patch session.

🚨🚨🚨 Onyx Lane Records Album Release 🚨🚨🚨

Peter M. Temko: Works, a collection of chamber and solo works by composer Peter M. Temko and put together by University of North Alabama Associate Dean of the School of the Arts Meghan Merciers is now available on all streaming services!

There is something intensely personal and intimate about all of Peter’s music. This is music that feels like it reveals the inside of a heart, a sonic inner monologue that plays in your mind as the body sits in silence and reflects on life with whimsy and love.

It was an absolute honor to work with the musicians on this album including the indomitable clarinetist Meghan Merciers alongside mezzo-soprano Gretchen Windt, flautist Whitney O’Neal, cellist Suren Petrosyan, hornist Jordan Redd, and percussionist Tracy Wiggins.

Special thanks to Alex Wittscheck for joining us in engineering at Noiseblock Studio.

So incredibly proud of former intern, now colleague Tyler Jenkins for landing his first big orchestral recording gig with the incredible

Tyler has been interning and shadowing with us on our sessions since summer 2023 on seven albums, two movies, and live orchestral, opera, choir, and wind symphony recordings. When we saw the posting by the NRO for a summer audio engineer we knew he’d be perfect for the job! Tyler also just graduated from with his bachelors in audio production - he hustled, worked hard, grew his knowledge, and did everything right to be ready to thrive in the music industry.
