New World Con was a lot of fun! We met a lot of new people and saw some old friends, too. Thanks to everyone who came out and gave Tokaido Tales #1 a chance.

Ok, we promised a surprise to celebrate New World Comic Con and here it is! Martina Rossi applied her enviable artistic talents to a promotional poster for us and we think it’s fantastic!

New World Comic Con is this Saturday the 29th at the OKC fair grounds. It’s our second convention and we’re excited to get our comic into reader’s hands! Come out and visit with us! There’s a lot to see and do at the con. And thanks again to Martina Rossi for helping us mark the occasion in such a memorable way.

Reminder that New World Con is this Saturday the 29th at the OKC fairgrounds! We’ll be there with copies of our first issue for sale! We’ll be unveiling a surprise this week to celebrate New World Con! Won’t say what yet, but we’ll leave you with a clue. It involves our multi-talented series colorist Martina Rossi! Stay tuned!

A lot of decisions need to be made when you’re finalizing a comic for print, not the least of which is the cover! This was an alternate cover for the first issue and made the choice more than a little difficult. It sets a great tone and showcases Robert’s unusual skill at depicting hands (A.I. art can’t come close to competing!). Ultimately, we decided it made more sense to introduce the readers to two of our lead characters rather than one and we chose the version now immortalized on the cover of #1. We thought everyone would enjoy seeing it! What do you think?

One of my favorite pages from the first issue. Artist Robert Wood took what was scripted as three separate panels and made the action flow into a much more impressive visual. He even added a very clever bit of symbolism that wasn’t scripted at all. It’s nice working with talented people! Tokaido Tales #1 available July 29th at New World Comic Con!

That’s a wrap on Sooner Con! We’d like to thank our family and friends for coming out to support us as well as everyone at the con who gave our books a try. It was a great experience and we’re looking forward to doing it all again in a few weeks at New World Comic Con 8!
