🌡️TEMPS: Temperatures CAN reach 35,000°F - exposure to these extreme Temperatures CAN cause severe Burns to the Skin, Ignite Clothing, AND cause death.

📕NFPA 70E, ARTICLE 105: Outlines the responsibilities of Employer AND Employee(s) regarding Electrical Safety.

🏢EMPLOYER: Employer is responsible for providing Safety-related Work Procedures, Training Employees in the Practices, Supervising the Employees, Auditing, AND Documenting.

🫂BROS BEFORE PROS

📍EXCAVATOR SAFETY - TRANSPORTING AN EXCAVATOR: Excavators are among the heaviest and most powerful Construction or Mining Machinery on-site and are versatile Machines that come in various types, each designed to handle specific applications on different site conditions. Transporting Excavators between sites can be a complex process that requires careful planning and special attention.

📋ASSESSMENT: Conduct Risk Assessment BEFORE Excavator transportation to identify potential hazards and risks, such as the weight and size of machines, road and weather conditions, routes, and low clearance areas to ensure equipment and personnel safety.

🧤PPE: Protective Equipment such as Hard Hats, Safety Glasses, Gloves, and High Visibility clothing should be worn by all individuals involved while transporting Excavators.

📐DIMENSIONS: Accurately determining the dimensions is crucial for the transport process. It helps to ensure the proper size and weight of a vehicle. It also identifies any areas with low clearance or weight restrictions on the route.

🔎INSPECT: Inspect Truck and Trailer Inspection BEFORE transporting the Excavator, inspect the truck and trailer to ensure they are in good working condition.

✅INSURANCE: Driver MUST have transit insurance in place to protect the equipment from potential damage or loss during transport - include coverage for collision, theft, and other types of damage.

🗺️LAWS: Know Road Safety Regulations BEFORE transporting an Excavator - including compliance with local and state laws and regulations related to Oversize Loads and Weight Limits.

⚖️WEIGHT: Match the Weight-Carrying Capacity of the Trailer with the weight of the Excavator.

✔️RAMP: Have proper Ramp or Loading Dock in place to ensure safe loading. It will help prevent equipment damage and injuries to those involved in the transport process.

⛓️SECURE: Once the Excavator is loaded onto the Trailer, ensure that it is safely tied down using Straps, Chains, or other securing devices. Safe tying will prevent the equipment from moving or shifting during transport and consequential transit damages.

📏HEIGHT: Before starting the transport of the Excavator, check the upper height limit of the Machine on the road to avoid any damage to the equipment.

↔️POSITIONING: Before Transporting the Excavator, position the Machine to prevent any damage - including removing or securing attachments and ensuring that the Excavator is properly balanced on the Trailer.

🚘HOW TO

↕️VEHICLE LIFT SAFETY: Never try to Stabilize a Moving OR Falling Vehicle - get out of the way - properly Chock the Wheels on Drive-on Lifts (ONLY USE Equipment provided by the Manufacturer).

🔎Inspect your Lift daily BEFORE Use.

⚙️NEVER Operate the Lift if it Malfunctions, Broken, OR has Damaged Parts - Repairs SHOULD ONLY be made with Original Equipment Manufactured Parts.

⚖️NEVER Load your Lift beyond the Manufacturer’s Rated Capacity.

👨🏽‍🔧Positioning of the Vehicle AND Operation of the Lift SHOULD be done ONLY by Trained AND Authorized Personnel.

⬆️NEVER raise Vehicle with ANYONE inside it - Raise the Lift a Short Distance AND gently Rock the Vehicle to verify it is sufficiently Stabilized BEFORE fully Raising the Vehicle to Working position.

👥Customers OR Bystanders SHOULD NOT be in the Lift Area during operation.

🗑ALWAYS keep Lift Area free of Debris - Do NOT Hit OR Run Over Lift Arms, Adapters OR Axle Supports.

🖲Do NOT Block Open OR Override Controls.

💱Position Lift Supports to contact the Vehicle Manufacturer’s Recommended Lifting Points AND Raise the Lift until Supports contact the Vehicle - IF you are working under the Vehicle, THEN the Lift SHOULD be raised high enough for Locking Device to be engaged.

➗The Removal OR Installation of Components MAY cause a critical shift in the Vehicle’s Center of Gravity - Use high-reach, supplementary stands to prevent instability.

⬇️Before Lowering the Lift, be sure Materials ARE Removed from under Vehicle.

🤕REAL SAFETY STORIES - EPISODE 13: LEAF CLEANUPS “I was 18 years old overseeing 4 guys doing leaf cleanups.

It was 7 pm everyone, was pi**ed and wanted to go home.

Those baggers on s**g tiger cats clog due to wet grass ect.

Mine was clogged so I shut the mower off removed shoot and reached in like I ALWAYS do, this time the belt still had tension on it, and when I removed the debris, the fan slipped and crushed my hand breaking 4 fingers.

The pictures you see are two surgery’s… all fingers healed great except the one you see, my middle finger was cut clean off, so they put pins in it, when they removed the pins, my bone shifted and broke a week later, now i have 2 plates and 8 screws in my hand and can never straighten it again.

I had 2 years experience at the time, shouldn’t have been rushing, I should have taken my time and used something to unclog the bagger.”

🛴MATERIAL HANDLING - DO NOT RIDE PALLET JACKS: Do NOT Ride on the Forks of a Pallet Jack OR allow others to be Carried - do NOT Stand on a Pallet Jack.

➰Pallet Jacks (OR PALLET TRUCKS) ARE used in MANY Industrial, Warehouse, Wholesale AND Big-Box Retail Facilities - most Incidents involve the Improper USE of Pallet Jacks due to Lack of Training.

👨‍🏫Do NOT Operate a Pallet Jack UNLESS you ARE Trained, AND Authorized.

🔎Inspect BEFORE each USE - Wheels, Forks, Fluid Leaks, Controls, Handles, Levers, and Horns.

🥾Wear your PPE - Gloves, Safety Boots/Shoes, Lumbar Support, etc.

⚖️Know the Maximum Load Limit of the Pallet Jack you ARE Operating - NEVER Overload a Pallet Jack.

📚Ensure Loads ARE Stacked evenly on the Forks BEFORE Moving the Pallet Jack.

🧐Inspect the Floors where the Pallet Jack will be Driven to ensure the path is clear.

⬇️Keep Loads as close to the Ground as possible for Transport.

⚠️Operate the Pallet Jack at a Safe Speed - Start Moving Slowly AND come to a Stop Slowly.

➖Do NOT Steer Pallet Jacks onto uneven surfaces AND avoid Steep inclines.

🦵🏼WHEN possible, Push Pallet Jacks during Transport - Pulling MAY Allow better Maneuverability BUT puts considerable Strain on the Back - Pushing uses stronger Leg Muscles AND keeps the Back straight.

🛑NEVER Try to Stop a Pallet Jack with Hands OR Feet, this COULD cause serious Injury, especially with a very Heavy Load.

🚶‍♂️WHEN NOT in USE, Pallet Jacks SHOULD be Rolled into an Area that does NOT have Pedestrian Traffic.

🧯Do NOT Store Pallet Jacks in ANY Area where they Block Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Equipment OR ANY Exits.

🚗Park unused Pallet Jacks on a level surface, with the forks lowered.
