Therefore with joy you will draw water
From the springs of salvation
And in that day you will say
“Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name

Proclaim to them that His name is exalted!”
Sing praises to the Lord, for He has done excellent and glorious things
Let this be known throughout the earth

Isaiah 9: 1-7

Nevertheless, that time of darkness and despair will not go on forever. The land of Zebulun and Naphtali will be humbled, but there will be a time in the future when Galilee of the Gentiles, which lies along the road that runs between the Jordan and the sea, will be filled with glory.

The people who walk in darkness
will see a great light
For those who live in a land of deep darkness
a light will shine.
You will enlarge the nation of Israel
and its people will rejoice.
They will rejoice before you
as people rejoice at the harvest
and like warriors dividing the plunder
For you will break the yoke of their slavery
and lift the heavy burden from their shoulders
You will break the oppressor’s rod
just as you did when you destroyed the army of Midian
The boots of the warrior
and the uniforms bloodstained by war
will all be burned.
They will be fuel for the fire
For a child is born to us
a son is given to us
The government will rest on his shoulders
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace
His government and its peace
will never end
He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David
for all eternity
The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies
will make this happen!

Isaiah 42: 1-9

Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold
My Chosen One in whom My soul delights
I have put My Spirit upon Him
He will bring forth justice to the nations
He will not call out or shout aloud
Nor make His voice heard in the street
A broken reed He will not break
And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish
He will faithfully bring forth justice.
He will not be disheartened or crushed in spirit
He will persevere until He has established justice on the earth
And the coastlands will wait expectantly for His law
This is what God the Lord says
He who created the heavens and stretched them out
Who spread out the earth and its produce
Who gives breath to the people on it
And spirit to those who walk on it
I am the Lord, I have called You, the Messiah, for a righteous purpose
I will also take You by the hand and keep watch over You
And I will appoint You as a covenant to Israel
As a light to the Gentiles
To open the eyes of the blind
To bring out prisoners from the dungeon
And those who sit in darkness from the prison
I am the Lord, that is My Name
My glory I will not give to another
Nor My praise to carved idols
Indeed, the former things have come to pass
Now I declare new things
Before they spring forth I proclaim them to you
