Per ESPN’s Pete Thamel: Oklahoma QB John Mateer is pushing to return this week for the game against Texas. There’s a belief that his return is possible, as he’s reacted well to surgery. Mateer playing against Texas would dovetail with the most optimistic return timelines, as he’d be 17 days out of surgery.

INJURY UPDATE: Thunder guard Nikola Topić had a testicular procedure on Monday and will be re-evaluated in approximately four to six weeks.

Topic was the 12th pick in the 2024 draft but missed the entire 2024-25 season with a torn ACL.
