The Spring Hill Board of Education voted 4-3 to approve a new board calendar with fewer scheduled meetings for 2026-2027 after a long debate between old and new members of the board.

“I’m going to start because I’ve done everything I can but break out the club and beat you guys over the head like a baby seal,” board member Doug Hull said to those in favor of the change. “My first question for the four of you who are newly elected to the board was ‘Was this a part of your platform? Was to actually get on and shorten your commitment to this board?’”

The Spring Hill School District is reporting an increase in retention rate of their staff, according to a presentation Monday.

The district saw a 93% retention rate for the 2025-2026 school year. This has increased from 82.8% in 2021-2022.
