Truly a great day at OWWR today! Plus, the amazing Angelina Zavala, our Assistant Production Director, on her own did some research and brought to my attention that 10 years ago this month, (July 23rd, 2015), we made history, and she thought we should mention it. Here is the cover for Radio World International as seen in print and on-line. OWWR, was the only internet radio station in SUNY to grace the cover of what I still rely on, alongside the broadcast industry, as the radio bible. I would like to say thank you to all of my students and staff, to all former, current, and those we have not met yet for allowing us to continue to make some a great community impact, and create great radio, and memories as we serve our institution and listeners. I would also like to thank my former Chief Engineer Bob Anderson as seen below above me, (when I was younger than I am today at WCWP). We worked together throughout my journey, and here at OWWR with me, may have been the last studio he ever completed before his passing, (all my love). OWWR was also featured in Radio World in December of 2022, when I wrote an article titled, “College Radio Is Not a Right, It’s a Privilege”. Here is to the next 10 years of OWWR as we get ready to celebrate our 20th anniversary, and I continue to be humbled and privileged to lead this amazing community facility and to my 29 years of serving in this capacity over my career.
