“Tuohy and Gable Talk Sports”, is all news and live tonight at 8 PM EST here on OWWR! Join Denis Tuohy and Joshua Gable for all your live sports new updates!

Here’s the rundown:

The 2026 NFL playoffs are here and only fourteen teams remain (in seed order); the Seattle Seahawks, the Chicago Bears, the reigning Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles, the Carolina Panthers, the Los Angeles Rams, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Green Bay Packers out of the National Football Conference. Out of the American Football Conference, we will see (in seed order); the Denver Broncos, the New England Patriots, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Steelers, the Houston Texans, the Buffalo Bills, and the Los Angeles Chargers. Who will be the last team standing? What should you keep an eye on for the second round? Tuohy and Gable will attempt to answer these questions. Instead of the usual top five winners and top five losers, we will rank the remaining 14 NFL teams in order of how likely they are to win the Super Bowl. Call in with your picks at (516) 876-4964.

The final four NCAA football playoffs are set, with the sixth seeded Ole Miss Rebels facing off against the tenth seeded Miami Hurricanes on Thursday January 8th, and the fifth seeded Oregon Ducks set to duel the one seeded Indiana Hoosiers on Friday, January 9th. Hosts Denis Tuohy and Josh Gable will catch you up on how these four teams got to where they are and predict who will be the last two teams standing.

As the NBA and NHL seasons continue to move forward, there are many storylines to catch up on. Some of these include the plucky Phoenix Suns upsetting the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Rangers blowing out the Panthers in Miami’s Winter Classic and NHL players being named for the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Tune in tonight at 8 PM EST here on Old Westbury Web Radio!

Dear OWWR Family,

Here at OWWR, we never really say ‘goodbye’, we say ‘goodbye for now’. For nearly 7 years SUNY Old Westbury undergraduate alumni, and OWWR staff member Giovanni Dainotto has provided a variety of music, interviews, news and cultural programming. He’s also worked alongside us for many of our shows throughout our local communities, including St. Baldrick’s. In the past year, Gio earned his Master’s degree, walked down the aisle at church, and committed himself to his love. Then while vacationing in Italy on their honeymoon, the new couple learned of the arrival of their new child. There has been a lot of internal communication within OWWR, and we can say Gio is humble, professional, dedicated, and committed, and overall, a lovely human. Although this is not easy for any of us, we wish Gio and his family health, happiness and continuing success. I am certain Gio will share more on his social media. Rest assured, you will see photos of us again, as OWWR has some special events coming this year, and we are certain you will hear him again on OWWR. All our love and best wishes.
~ Joe Manfredi OWWR Station Manager

Now, with all that said…

"The Five N' Dime Music Show", is all new and live on Monday at 5 PM EST here on OWWR, with host, Giovanni D for his last broadcast! Gio will take you on a musical ride including a variety of songs he enjoys from other genres that he’s never played live. He will take us all back in time and share some of his personal OWWR memories, and his on-air highlights including his interview with Gary U.S. Bonds and Paul Loren. It’s rock, it’s doo-wop, and your last chance to give Gio your OWWR send off.

Let’s show some love and give Giovanni Dainotto a proper OWWR ‘goodbye for now’, and celebrate how we always do together!

“Good Mourning”, is all new and live with Gigi on Monday at 10 AM EST!

Across many cultures, it has been long believed paranormal activities stir during the winter months. On “Good Mourning”, we will explore how the cold and darkness of the season intensify supernatural activity, drawing from recorded significant ghost legends from around the world. We will journey from Japan’s Yuki-onna to Europe's White Lady, and ‘The Wild Hunt’ of medieval times, for in these stories the ties to winter are evident for the unseen.

The Appalachian Mountains are also known to be rich in paranormal lore, but their true depths lie in the mountain's ancient geography and centuries-old communities. This region is one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth, shaped by time and migration. As we enter through the scary door, we explore the historical roots of Appalachia and the culture these mountains hold.

Then, we turn to the deep-rooted folklore shaped by the community, custom, and generations of storytelling. These traditions were not just stories and folktales, but this was their way of understanding the land, survival, and the unknown. We will dissect some Appalachian superstitions and beliefs, and what was believed to dwell within the mountain range.

“Good Mourning”, will be mourning the life of Salvatore Phillip "Sonny" Bono. He was an American musician, actor, and politician, who found fame in the 1960's and 70's. Bono died on January 5, 1998, from a skiing accident. Please join us for the morning services as we reflect on his life and legacy.

Don’t miss an all new “What’s the Score?”, here on OWWR Sunday, at 9 AM EST! Catch Kenny Cirella, Nick Mott, and Mikey Loades for all your sports news!

Here’s the rundown:

“What’s the Score?”, brings you your College Football Playoff fix recapping and analyzing the CFP Quarterfinals. Can Miami’s vaunted defense carry them to their first national title in 25 years after shutting down Ohio State? Will Oregon’s domination of Texas Tech send a message to the remaining playoff teams? Do the playoffs need tweaking after more losses mount for teams that earn a first round bye?

The NHL is storming into 2026 with some more chaos at the season’s halfway point. The Buffalo Sabres are officially the hottest team in the league with a franchise high 10 game win streak and are now in a playoff position. The Eastern Conference continues to be so jumbled that teams like the Islanders, Red Wings and Penguins have moved from 1st in the division to near last and back in a short span. We break down who are the real contenders and pretenders at the midseason mark. We also provide a preview of the 2026 Olympic Hockey Rosters and which NHL stars made the cut.

The NBA’s Trade Deadline is a month away and as teams are making calls and negotiating deals, we’ll give you all the rumors and news about your team’s potential trades and let you know what’s real and not. Are the Knicks working on a blockbuster, now that Giannis is healthy or are they looking to add some defensive depth and role players to an already impressive core? What are the chances of another shocking blockbuster coming out of nowhere like the Luka Doncic Trade 11 months ago?

There’s so much news and analysis to bring you in the NFL’s final regular season week that just “What’s the Score’s?” ‘NFL Power Hour’, can’t cover it all. That’s why we’re giving you another ‘NFL Power Hour+’ for Week 18. After last week’s letdown against the Cleveland Browns, the Pittsburgh Steelers return home for a winner-take-all showdown against their hated rival the Baltimore Ravens that will decide the AFC North. We explain why a loss for Steelers HC Mike Tomlin or Ravens HC John Harbaugh could possibly spell the end for each long tenured coaches. ‘Black Monday’ will commence after Sunday’s final game, and we go over the latest rumors and headlines involving any coaching decisions. Who else will join the Giants and Titans in the search for coaching stability? We also crown a season champion in the final installment of our ‘Weekly NFL Picks’.

This clock starts on Sunday, 9 AM EST, here on OWWR!

“Good Mourning”, is all new and live with Gigi on Monday at 10 AM EST!

We will be sharing the historical significance of New Year's Eve, as a liminal moment. Rooted in ancient Celtic and Norse traditions, Hogmanay is celebrated from December 31- January 2nd. We'll discuss the ancient belief, along with a prominent figure, the Cailleach Bheaur, the ancient spirit of winter. Across cultures, the New Year is celebrated in many different ways. Stonehenge, England, is long associated with the winter solstice and seasonal turning points. We will be traveling between worlds to speak on the belief of its celestial origins and its spiritual connections to the New Year. New Year's Eve, once a feared holiday, is now known to be one of the most powerful and pivotal points in time. We dive back in time for cultural traditions, history, and rituals that emerged across civilizations over time.

“Good Mourning” will be also mourning the life of Dame Vivienne Westwood who was a British fashion designer and businesswoman in the 1970's. She emerged fashion and punk music movement to challenge tradition and authority. Please join us for the morning services as we speak on her influence in the fashion world.
