⭐ Olney, We Need Your Help to Keep Pets With Their Families ⭐
Friends, our hearts were touched at this week’s City Council meeting when Interim Police Chief Autumn Thames shared something many in our community don’t see: a growing number of neighbors who simply cannot afford to feed their pets right now.
Animal Control Officer Holly Robertson has been responding to more and more calls from families struggling to keep food in their pets' bowls. In many cases, Officer Robertson and our police officers have been quietly buying pet food out of their own pockets so people don’t have to surrender their animals to already over-capacity shelters.
Between the government shutdown, rising inflation, and the daily financial pressures so many are facing, the need has reached a point where the City has created a new Pet Food Bank at the Olney Police Department.
