Violation of Board Policy FNCE(Local) - The “Cell Phone” Ban

At the 7/28/25 Board Meeting, Olton ISD adopted policy FNCE (Local) in response to HB 1481
(89th reg. session), prohibiting the possession and use of personal electronic devices while on
school property during the school day. We know this is legislation that has many viewpoints. We
want to assure you that:
1. We always want to create the best environment we can for our kids to learn.
2. We want to limit distractions from the opportunity to learn.
3. We expect our employees to follow the policies our Legislature & Board of Trustees put
in place.
