[media preview] The best lobster roll I’ve eaten in Seattle!

[media preview] Downtown Seattle got a little more green with Cinder + Salt, a new restaurant inside of the The Charter Hotel Seattle, Curio Collection by Hilton focused on seafood and fire-grilled foods from land and sea. Their lobster roll is the best one I’ve eaten in Seattle!

I was invited to the grand opening celebration and loved the green interior (my favorite furniture color), food, and drinks. Plus, they had a live mermaid serving oysters!

A few things you can order here:

- Maine lobster roll - it has tarragon buttermilk aioli and is delicious!
- Grilled Wagyu - another standout
- Wood-fired za’tar spiced heirloom carrots - they have a definite spicy kick
- Oysters Rockefeller - delicious!
- Burnt honey cheesecake with pears - I’m not a cheesecake fan, but really enjoyed this dessert
- Wood-fired chicken
- Drinks: Glass Garden, Smoke on the Sound, Bright Quarry (NA)

I’d seen Hannah Kay Swan’s reel about the interior design of Cinder + Salt beforehand, which was helpful to understand more about the restaurant’s look and feel. It really is a gorgeous space!

Cinder + Salt is a spot I’d recommend for a seafood dinner with out of town guests visiting Seattle or for an upscale date night. They also serve breakfast and coffee during the morning and lunch in the afternoon. I’m definitely returning for a lobster roll!

📍Cinder + Salt - 1610 2nd Ave, Seattle, WA inside of the Charter Hotel

💵 Price range: For dinner, expect to spend a minimum of $30 per person

Disclosure: This was a media event and grand opening party, so food and drink samples were comped.

Serendipitous moments are the best, and here’s a story about the serendipitous moment that led to my husband and me eating our first brunch at a few years ago.

One Saturday morning, we were hungrily walking around Pike Place Market, trying to decide where to eat after our original breakfast plans fell through. We walked by Can Can and noticed they were open. We knew had evening shows, dinner, and drinks, but didn’t know at the time that they also served weekend brunch.

Breakfast plans were sorted, and now we’ve had several weekend brunches and taken many booth photos at Can Can. We still love the early 1900s Parisian, colorful, and whimsical decor that makes the theater feel like another world. 🎭

My favorite breakfast dishes at Can Can are the breakfast plate ($21) with potatoes and scrambled eggs and the beignets ($12). The plate reminds me of a hearty southern breakfast and the beignets are pillowy and cooked perfectly each time. I’ve had a few other breakfast items, but I tend to stick with my favorites here.

If you’ve only seen Can Can at night, it’s worth a daytime visit between Friday-Sunday for their brunch menu! Have you eaten there before?

Pictures from Mother’s Day at the last year. My mom had never been to the Fairmont and I booked the Mother’s Day brunch to give her a fun experience.

We had a lovely time and there was so much food to choose from that was all delicious and beautifully presented.

If you’re looking for a Mother’s Day meal this year, I’d highly recommend booking brunch at the in downtown Seattle!
