I’ve always loved holiday music, touring for Christmas almost every year for the past 21 years, and of course hosting my own I Can't Wait For Christmas Tour featuring Lindsey Webster and Marcus Anderson this year with 20 shows! I had so much fun recording these beautiful classics in my own way, and adding in a new original song along with a new soulful version of my own Christmas classic “I Can’t Wait For Christmas.” I hope this album puts you right into the holiday spirit! One of the finest in jazz! Over the past three decades, saxophonist, composer, and bandleader Joshua Redman has consistently demonstrated how to honor the music’s verities while expanding its reach in contemporary settings. On “where are we,” Redman’s first recording as a Blue Note artist, he delivers one of his most challenging and compelling albums to date, in a program featuring brilliant supporting partners and (in a first for Redman) built around a dynamic vocalist.

Band members are: Joshua Redman (sax), Gabrielle Cavassa (vocals), Paul Cornish (piano), Philip Norris (bass) and Nazir Ebo (drums). Four nights, six shows with two sets on Friday and Saturday at 7:30p and 9:30p.

The wife and I had the pleasure of meeting this lady and artist. She is truly doing her thing.

During our cooking/wine tasting Facebook live show last night, my Yamaha Custom Z saxophone fell off the counter and landed squarely on the neck. Ugh. My stomach sank... the neck is officially dead. Check out the bend and dent there. It's good that there was plenty of wine around to ease the pain. I'm sure my saxophone will live to play another day... I just have to visit Yamaha Music USA this week to have them put her back together. They're amazing over there... gurus of saxophone! But right now misery loves company and I had to share this with you.
