On December 24, 2008, Tilfas was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicants.
Tilfas was traveling westbound on SR 516 at Military Road when he crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head on; two occupants in the other vehicle sustained serious injuries as a result.
Tilfas, stationed at Joint Base Lewis McChord, was scheduled to deploy to Iraq in Spring 2009. He subsequently went Absent Without Leave (AWOL) from the military and has failed to show up for court in Washington State. There is reason to believe Tilfas may be living in the Philippines or Micronesia. The military also has a valid No Bail warrant (090812007) on Tilfas for AWOL.

According to the guard, the suspect accused the guard of photographing him. The guard was actually reading on his phone. The suspect began arguing with the guard and pulled out a gun. The guard remained calm and did not draw his weapon.

The suspect quickly left but was found parked in a nearby fast-food parking lot. He was arrested without incident.

Officers served a warrant on his car and recovered:

Handgun, ammunition
6.8g of Co***ne

Seattle police officers arrested a 44-year-old man, and convicted felon, for stabbing another man in the Chinatown-International District this evening.

At about 5:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a stabbing in near 12th Avenue South and South King Street. There, they found a 40-year-old man suffering from stab wounds. The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and provided medical aid to the victim.

SFD transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

Police determined that the suspect stabbed the victim multiple times in the abdomen after running up to him from behind. The victim chased after his attacker but could not catch him. The suspect fled on his bicycle before police arrived.

A patrol Sergeant and officers found the suspect near Rainier Avenue South and South Bayview Street. The suspect fled from multiple cops on his bike through the Lowe’s parking lot and into the oncoming northbound traffic lanes of Rainier Avenue South.

Officers quickly arrested the suspect without incident. They recovered the knife from the suspect’s waistband. Police booked him into the King County Jail for felony assault.

Amber Alert for the Kidnapping of 5 Children Related to a DV Burglary and Assault - children were located and the suspect is in custody.

On 09/08/25 at about 4:30 PM, patrol officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2600 block of Jason Loop for a Residential Burglary involving Domestic Violence. The father of four children came to the residence, forced entry using a baseball bat to assault someone at the house, and then fled with four of his children under the age of ten and another child that was not related to the male. Because the male had no legal custody of the children who were living at the residence with their mother, this was considered a kidnapping and an Amber Alert was issued.

Eventually, information was developed that led Pasco Police officers to the father’s work, which was the Darigold plant under construction north of Pasco. All five children were located in the suspect’s vehicle that was left running while he was inside the plant. He was taken into custody without further issue. The children were unhurt and reunited with their mother.

37-year-old Juan Daniel Salas was booked into the Benton County Jail on multiple counts involving kidnapping, assault, burglary, and domestic violence.

Stolen Vehicle Recovered and Suspect Arrested

On the evening of September 5th, our night shift officers responded to an alert from Flock cameras at Home Depot regarding a stolen license plate spotted on a white van pulling into the parking lot off of East Lake Sammamish Parkway SE.

After getting the Flock alert, officers responded and began checking the nearby area finding the vehicle in the Fred Meyer parking lot. Officers quickly coordinated and safely pinned the vehicle, which was unoccupied at the time. A VIN check confirmed the van was reported stolen.

While securing the scene, officers observed a male acting suspiciously near the Fred Meyer entrance. When approached, the individual fled into the store. Officers gave chase and safely detained him behind the store. The male initially provided false name but was later positively identified.

Evidence inside the stolen vehicle, including an insurance card and a driver’s license, further connected the individual to the crime. The registered owner of the van gave consent for a search, leading to additional evidence.

The suspect, a 36-year-old man from Sequim, was arrested and transported to the Issaquah City Jail where he was booked for Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer, Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd degree, Making False Statements to a Public Servant, and Vehicle Trespass

Thanks to quick coordination, strong teamwork, and effective use of technology, this stolen vehicle was safely recovered and a suspect is now in custody.
