Preliminary report from the NWS shows 9 tornadoes touched down between 5-7 AM last Thursday. While 8 out of 9 tornadoes were classified as weak, a tornado was reported as an EF-2 located southeast of Corning, Iowa peaking at 115 mph around 6:30 AM. No injuries/fatalities were reported. 🌪️🌪️

CWS: It's Day 2 of the College World Series and our luck isn't as good today compared to the opener. There's a chance for t-storms after 4 PM today which could impact the later part of the Oklahoma vs. Alabama game. If there's no delays, then storms could impact the start of the Texas vs. Georgia game. Some storms could be severe with hail & damaging winds.

Strong storms are possible until 11 AM this morning then more strong storms look to form after 4 PM. Some storms could produce large hail, damaging, winds, and flash flooding. Winds will also be breezy all day.

It’s not a goodbye, but a “see you later!” A double whammy yesterday as it was Meteorologist Jade Steffens and Erin Sullivan last day at WOWT! 😢

Erin and I go way back as we both started at the same market in Joplin, Missouri. If it wasn’t for her lending a generous hand, I wouldn’t be working here in Omaha. She’s also a fantastic leader and wants to help you become the best you can be!

Jade is the absolute sweetest person I’ve ever met! She can put a smile on your face even if you’re having a tough day. She welcomed me in with open arms and trained me on everything I needed to know and more.

I wish them both the best on their future endeavors and I’ll miss them dearly. ❤️

If you have an analytical brain or you love the board game Clue like myself, the Holland Center is having a Clue event for the entire month of June. First Alert 6 got an exclusive look at the event and it was a BLAST!! Fun for the family and/or friends! You can find tickets at the TicketOmaha website.

P.S. It’s not impossible to figure out the case but you definitely need to put your thinking cap on! They had a few puzzles that took time to figure out! 😉🤩
