FIRST ALERT: Air Quality Alert has been issued for everyone until Friday night due to wildfire smoke. The worst of the smoke will be midday through the afternoon on Friday.

Dense wildfire smoke is pushing over the Midwest as wildfires impact Canada and the western United States. According to the National Interagency Fire Center, currently there are over 40 large fires burning in the western U.S with even more in Canada. Limit your time outside especially if you're sensitive to the smoke.

RAIN TOTALS: Crazy how one thunderstorm dropped several inches of rain in a short amount of time. These are REPORTED totals from the National Weather Service, but some communities may have received more. It's no wonder there was flooding in western Douglas & Sarpy County.

T-STORM WATCH: The metro is now under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 4 AM Wednesday morning. A line of strong storms are moving slowly to the southeast towards the metro pushing the storms until after midnight.

Once these storms arrive, they could produce damaging winds, heavy downpours leading to flooding, and small hail. The tornado risk is still VERY LOW.

SEVERE T-STORM WATCH: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for counties north of the metro.

The Nebraska counties are under a Severe T-Storm Watch until 10 PM while the Iowa counties are under the same alert until 2 AM. Damaging winds still look to be the biggest threat with the incoming storms.

Storms still looking to impact the metro shortly after midnight. It's going to be a looonnnggg night!
