Have ya heard the news? Wandermore in Colorado — Eliese and I’s project to visit all 273 of the Centennial State’s communities — starts in just a few weeks! If you or somebody you know lives in Colorado (especially in northeast Colorado, where the first stage of our project will take place), please send this post to them to help us properly document the history of the region and find the best things to do, restaurants to try, people to meet, businesses to spotlight, etc.! https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EZNnpzEZy/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Here’s to the beginning of the seventh rendition of “The Wandermore Project!” 🤩 Be sure to follow along so you don’t miss a thing!

We will be visiting and documenting the history of all 273 of Colorado’s incorporated communities this year…and we need your help to make my project as detailed and as amazing as possible! Wandermore in Colorado

We’re Seth and Eliese Varner, a 25-and-22-year old husband-and-wife duo on a mission to visit every single one of Colorado’s incorporated towns throughout 2026. In 2020, I (Seth) came up with the idea to visit every community in my home state of Nebraska. Since then, I have turned my passion for small-town history, writing, and travel into a full-time business: Wandermore Publishing. I've since traveled to every municipality in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, and both of the Dakotas--over 3,600 towns! I've been fortunate to share my travels with millions of folks across the region as I've worked to document history and promote small-town tourism. We were even featured on CBS National News this past November while trekking across Minnesota!

We’re gearing up to take on the first leg of our journey—northeast Colorado—in April. We would appreciate it if folks familiar with the following 52 communities could give us suggestions on things to see and do, places to eat, potential cool experiences, or whatever else you think makes each town unique! It would be amazing if you could share this post with your community boards and city officials to spread the word. We will try our best to capture the essence of each community by photographing as many businesses, churches, schools, parks, and points of interest that we can locate in each city. Although we won’t capture a picture of every “thing” in every town, we’ll strive to give everyone from now into the future a look at what all 273 communities looked like in 2026! If you'd like to arrange a meetup (whether for lunch, opening up a museum for us, showcasing your business, etc.), you can contact us by messaging the Wandermore in Colorado page.

If your town is not listed below, we’re visiting it on a future trip later this year, or it's unincorporated! You can see a full list of Colorado’s 273 incorporated municipalities that we'll be covering here: https://wandermorepublishing.com/coloradotowns

Our last six projects have all been wild successes because the state has banded together to assist us in sharing history, finding the best places to visit, restaurants to try, museums to tour, etc. A primary goal of this project is to bring together Coloradans to appreciate that every one of their little towns, no matter how big or small, is worthy of its own moment in the spotlight. Every town has something to do and a story that deserves to be told; you've just gotta go out and find it! We would so appreciate it if you--the people of Colorado--could share the word of our travels so we can make this the seventh successful installment in the Wandermore Project!

Give our page a follow and travel vicariously with us to every municipality in the “Centennial State.” We promise you won’t want to miss this! Once we finish traveling the Centennial State, we will compile a book, “Wandermore in Colorado,” serving as a travel guide, history book, and living photo album under one cover! It will be the most comprehensive guide to Colorado’s incorporated towns ever created and serve as a testament to the storied histories that makes Colorado such a special place to live. More information on the book will be available later on in the journey. I've been fortunate in that I've been able to share my Wandermore guides with almost all 50 states and over 23,000 people! https://wandermorepublishing.com/colorado

Eliese and I made a special trip to Kansas earlier this week to produce the first-ever Wandermore video! We had an out-of-this-world adventure at a missile silo Airbnb in Wilson, Kansas. She spent over six hours editing this video, so we’d really appreciate it if y’all took a moment to show it some love! ❤️

We’re considering making video content for all of our pages, including this page, and the Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Kansas, North Dakota, and Minnesota outlets. What kind of stuff would y’all be interested in seeing? Small town tours? Business or restaurant spotlights? Unique stays? Historical videos? Ghost towns? Let us know in the comments!

We’re considering making miniature travel guides/history books that focus on specific areas we’ve traveled to outside of the Midwest…like “Wandermore Pocketbooks: Our Experience in Miami & The Florida Keys.”

We’d go into detail about some of the interesting stories/attractions of the area, share some history and roadside oddities, and give helpful tips for well-known hotspots and tips and tricks that would help folks going on vacation to that area. Is that something y’all would realistically be interested in seeing? 📚

Eliese and I are in for a mountain of fun this year…follow along as we visit all 273 of Colorado’s incorporated towns at Wandermore in Colorado! 🏔️❄️ Follow along with the journey starting this spring! 🚗📸

We know that a LOT of people have visited Colorado over the years, so we’d love to get and tips on your favorite attractions, restaurants, etc. to potentially feature in our Colorado book! 📚

Welcome to Wandermore in Colorado, the SEVENTH state in the Wandermore Project series!

If you're reading this, congratulations on coming across what will be the most comprehensive town documentation project in Colorado history. My wife and I will be visiting all 273 cities in the Centennial State throughout 2026!

My name is Seth Varner, and I'm a 25-year-old travel author on a mission to visit every single one of Colorado's incorporated communities throughout 2026. That's me in the picture with my wonderful wife, Eliese, who will be joining me on this project! In 2020, I had the idea to visit every incorporated town in my home state of Nebraska. Since then, I have turned my passion for small-town history, writing, and travel into a full-time business, Wandermore Publishing. I've traveled to every municipality in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, and both Dakotas — over 3,600 towns! I've been fortunate to share my travels with tens of millions of folks across the region as I've worked to document history, promote tourism, and show that every town, no matter how big or small, deserves its turn in the spotlight!

This project will aim to showcase as much as possible about Colorado's 273 incorporated communities (big or small) through a write-up and a series of photos. My posts will cover everything from history and architecture to art, food, and other community topics. I will photograph as many businesses, churches, schools, and other points of interest as possible to give people a general sense of what the town looks like in 2026. I would appreciate it so much if you, the past and present residents of Colorado, could add to my posts by captioning the photos and sharing your memories or knowledge of the pictures I have taken for others' enjoyment.

Here's how the trips will work. Before traveling, I will make an "itinerary post" on this page listing the exact towns I plan on visiting and when. On those posts, I will rely on Coloradans to tell me what I need to check out in each community, give me restaurant suggestions, or offer unique experiences that give me and others an idea of what it looks like to live in Colorado! Most of the experiences I'm looking for involve touring and showcasing local businesses, museums, and restaurants. I have worked closely with Chambers of Commerce and local tourism entities over the last six years to ensure I capture the essence of their community. If you'd like to arrange a meetup with me (whether for lunch, opening up a museum for me, showcasing your business, etc.), you can contact me by messaging the Wandermore in Colorado page.

Once I finish traveling the Centennial State, I will compile a book, "Wandermore in Colorado," which will serve as a travel guide, history book, and living photo album under one cover! It will be the most comprehensive guide to Colorado's incorporated towns ever created. More information on the book will be available later on in the journey. I've been fortunate to share my other six Wandermore guides with over 21,000 people across all 50 states!

Are you ready to "wander more" around Colorado and travel vicariously with me to all its incorporated communities? Hit the "like" or "follow" button at the top of the page to join me on this once-in-a-lifetime journey! Wandermore in Colorado

We have some plans for this “general” Wandermore page coming in 2026! Eliese and I do a lot of traveling outside do the six states I’ve covered—Wandermore in Nebraska, Wandermore in Iowa, Wandermore in South Dakota, Wandermore in Kansas, Wandermore in North Dakota, and Wandermore in Minnesota—but we want to start sharing stories of the places we’ve been that lie outside of those six states. This page will serve as more of a “Wandermore in America” type page where we plan to start covering our travels outside of the above six states alone. We’re also considering writing a more generalized book every year that can serve as an inspiration for folks looking to wander more in every part of the country! 🤩 Stay tuned…

Oh, and also — I know a lot of folks on this page followed from the CBS Mornings interview a couple of months ago with David Begnaud. If you haven’t already followed us on our other six state pages that interest you, you may also take an interest in our history books/travel guides! Over 21,000 people are out there using our guides to help them plan road trips across the Midwest, or they’re enjoying the history and photos from the comfort of their homes.

The Holiday sale for Wandermore books ends at 11:59:59pm CST tonight (January 11th)! Minnesota, Kansas, and Iowa books are still 15% off, whereas Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota books are 5% off. This is a great time to complete your collection or to send a copy to a friend/family member at a discounted rate! 📚 wandermorepublishing.com/shop

Things have gotten a little crazy here at Wandermore since the story! We are in AWE at the incredible amount of support we have received. Hundreds of book orders came in, and a couple thousand people have reached out via messages and email. We even had to place our Nebraska and Iowa books on a temporary backorder due to high demand. I guess that’s what we should’ve expected being on the national news leads to! 😂

Eliese and I are working around the clock to respond to your messages and ship your books. I am also working diligently to have the Minnesota book available for preorder next week, with shipments going out in December.

With so much to do for just the two of us, we have decided to take a temporary hiatus from posting on the NE/IA/SD/KS/ND pages to focus on finishing the Minnesota book and to play a little game of “catch up.” If you’d like to still see some new content, we still have 32 town spotlights to make on Wandermore in Minnesota that’ll be going up over the next several days as we wrap up our town visits in the Land of 10,000 Lakes! 🚗

Thank you all for your patience and support as we gear up to release the SIXTH Wandermore book! 📚 Normal programming to resume soon 😉

Never stop wandering more,
