Have ya heard the news? Wandermore in Colorado — Eliese and I’s project to visit all 273 of the Centennial State’s communities — starts in just a few weeks! If you or somebody you know lives in Colorado (especially in northeast Colorado, where the first stage of our project will take place), please send this post to them to help us properly document the history of the region and find the best things to do, restaurants to try, people to meet, businesses to spotlight, etc.! https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EZNnpzEZy/?mibextid=wwXIfr
Here’s to the beginning of the seventh rendition of “The Wandermore Project!” 🤩 Be sure to follow along so you don’t miss a thing!
We will be visiting and documenting the history of all 273 of Colorado’s incorporated communities this year…and we need your help to make my project as detailed and as amazing as possible! Wandermore in Colorado
We’re Seth and Eliese Varner, a 25-and-22-year old husband-and-wife duo on a mission to visit every single one of Colorado’s incorporated towns throughout 2026. In 2020, I (Seth) came up with the idea to visit every community in my home state of Nebraska. Since then, I have turned my passion for small-town history, writing, and travel into a full-time business: Wandermore Publishing. I've since traveled to every municipality in Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, and both of the Dakotas--over 3,600 towns! I've been fortunate to share my travels with millions of folks across the region as I've worked to document history and promote small-town tourism. We were even featured on CBS National News this past November while trekking across Minnesota!
We’re gearing up to take on the first leg of our journey—northeast Colorado—in April. We would appreciate it if folks familiar with the following 52 communities could give us suggestions on things to see and do, places to eat, potential cool experiences, or whatever else you think makes each town unique! It would be amazing if you could share this post with your community boards and city officials to spread the word. We will try our best to capture the essence of each community by photographing as many businesses, churches, schools, parks, and points of interest that we can locate in each city. Although we won’t capture a picture of every “thing” in every town, we’ll strive to give everyone from now into the future a look at what all 273 communities looked like in 2026! If you'd like to arrange a meetup (whether for lunch, opening up a museum for us, showcasing your business, etc.), you can contact us by messaging the Wandermore in Colorado page.
If your town is not listed below, we’re visiting it on a future trip later this year, or it's unincorporated! You can see a full list of Colorado’s 273 incorporated municipalities that we'll be covering here: https://wandermorepublishing.com/coloradotowns

Our last six projects have all been wild successes because the state has banded together to assist us in sharing history, finding the best places to visit, restaurants to try, museums to tour, etc. A primary goal of this project is to bring together Coloradans to appreciate that every one of their little towns, no matter how big or small, is worthy of its own moment in the spotlight. Every town has something to do and a story that deserves to be told; you've just gotta go out and find it! We would so appreciate it if you--the people of Colorado--could share the word of our travels so we can make this the seventh successful installment in the Wandermore Project!
Give our page a follow and travel vicariously with us to every municipality in the “Centennial State.” We promise you won’t want to miss this! Once we finish traveling the Centennial State, we will compile a book, “Wandermore in Colorado,” serving as a travel guide, history book, and living photo album under one cover! It will be the most comprehensive guide to Colorado’s incorporated towns ever created and serve as a testament to the storied histories that makes Colorado such a special place to live. More information on the book will be available later on in the journey. I've been fortunate in that I've been able to share my Wandermore guides with almost all 50 states and over 23,000 people! https://wandermorepublishing.com/colorado
