ENJOY A VARIETY OF AUTHENTIC INDIAN DISHES AT Little India IN THE BLACKSTONE DISTRICT

ABOUT
Little India is a locally owned Indian restaurant in Blackstone that was formally known as Taste of India off Leavenworth! Their menu is rooted in South Indian and Indo-Chinese cuisine where you can find comforting classics, and newcomers quickly find a go-to dish. Whether you're diving into something familiar like butter chicken or branching out with a regional specialty like Kerala-style biryani, Little India makes it easy to explore a wide range of flavor profiles in a laid-back setting.

What makes Little India stand out is its dedication to authenticity and quality. Many of the dishes highlight traditional preparation methods and ingredients, and their handmade samosas and house specials are local favorites for a reason. The staff is friendly and helpful if you’re unsure what to order or looking to try something new!

MENU
Little India has an extensive menu with flavors for just about everyone. They have curries, tandoori specials, biryanis, and a great selection of vegetarian options. They also have a range of appetizers to choose from like the Samosa Chaat and Chicken 65 that are great for sharing—while mains range from comforting classics like Butter Masala and Saag to coconut-rich curries and fragrant rice bowls. If you’re looking to stop by over lunch, they have new lunch specials to keep an eye out for as well!

We tried the Kerala Beef Pepper Fry, a bold, peppery dish with sautéed onions and curry leaves, along with their warm, buttery garlic naan, and it did not disappoint!

Little India is located in Blackstone at 3562 Farnam Street and is open Monday to Saturday from 11:30am-2:30pm for lunch and 4:30pm-9pm for dinner!

Stir Coffee Bar is the result of a dream turned reality between two women who longed for a neighborhood spot that truly felt like home. What began as a casual idea between friends quickly grew into a full-blown passion project rooted in community and connection. Stir was created not just to serve great coffee, but to be a space where people can come together. The cozy coffee shop has all your caffeinated favorites, a yummy food menu, and a friendly atmosphere that makes for a great place to sit and relax!

MENU
Stir’s menu goes far beyond your typical coffee shop lineup. Of course, you’ll find favorites like lattes, cappuccinos, and cold brews, but they also offer specialty drinks like the Coconut Cloud Americano and Blueberry Matcha Lemonade that bring a creative twist to your caffeine fix. They also offer teas, smoothies and refresher options for those hot Omaha summer days.

If you're hungry, their in-house food menu includes power balls, overnight oats, and a variety of toasts like the Everything Bagel Toast or Harissa Hummus Toast. Plus, rotating pastries, donuts, and ready-to-go meals from ensure there’s something for everyone, whether you're staying to chat with friends or grabbing something quick on the run!

Open Omaha is returning for its fourth year on August 9th! For one day only, dozens of historic landmarks, local businesses, creative spaces, sacred sites, and other hidden gems will open their doors in a city-wide showcase of what makes the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro an awesome place to explore!

The event will be spread out amongst 40+ venues including Omaha icons like Joslyn Castle & Gardens, Conagra Brands, and Steelhouse Omaha, as well as hidden gems like the Girl Scout DreamLab, Hardy Coffee Co. Roasting Lab, UNO's Mallory Kountze Planetarium. Get the behind the scenes look at community makers and workplaces like Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands, design firm DLR Group, and the new health innovation hub Catalyst.

HOW IT WORKS
Open Omaha is self-guided! Choose your own adventure and tour the venues that pique your interest. Download the Open Omaha app for the full interactive experience, and find details and accessibility information about each venue. Check in at each venue and see if you can collect them all! TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW FOR ZOOFARI 2025: UNDER WILD STARS FUNDRAISING EVENT AT Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium ON SEPTEMBER 12TH

ABOUT
Zoofari 2025 is not your typical gala but instead it’s a wild, one-of-a-kind evening under the stars where party style meets safari adventure. This year’s reimagined celebration invites you to explore Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium like never before, with themed zones, interactive entertainment, gourmet bites, and of course some close-up encounters with wildlife around every corner. It’s all in support of one mission: helping the Omaha Zoo conserve and care for the world’s most vulnerable species!

WHAT TO EXPECT
Get ready for African drummers, stilt walkers, and performers as you make your way through the Omaha Zoo. Expect vibrant themed areas, food stations from some of Omaha’s top caterers, a silent disco, and a drone show to end the night. You’ll also have the chance to take part in a silent auction with exciting prizes that are all benefiting ongoing conservation efforts!

DRESS THE PART
Zoofari style is all about bold, fashion-forward flair with a practical side to it. While you’re encouraged to dress up, remember this is a walking event so comfy (but stylish!) footwear is a must like sneakers, platform sandals, or dressy flats. For the guys, a “shorts tuxedo” or smart warm-weather look fits the vibe perfectly. Think red carpet meets safari lodge!

Zoofari 2025 is a 21+ event, and tickets help directly fund animal care and conservation programs. The Zoofari offers three ticket tiers: Starlight Star grants access to the main event, Celestial VIP includes exclusive lounges and a behind-the-scenes look at the Zoo’s future, and Lunar Luminary adds a $500 donation. Hardy Coffee Co. is a local coffee shop in Omaha that is rooted in a deep love for craft and community. Founded by a husband-and-wife team who returned to their Omaha hometown in 2010, the journey began with a small bakery operating out f a subleased space in Aromas Coffeehouse. They now have multiple locations all around Omaha, and one of our favorites is in Benson!

Their Benson location has a relaxing, small-town vibe that matches the neighborhood’s classic feel. They also have a super cute patio out back that feels like a garden oasis. It’s a great spot to sit, relax and enjoy a cup of coffee with a good book or crack down on your studying!
