CHECK OUT Kaitei, A HIDDEN JAPANESE-INSPIRED SPEAKEASY HIDDEN BENEATH IKA RAMEN IN BENSON

ABOUT
Hidden beneath Ika Ramen in Benson is Kaitei, a 21+ Japanese-inspired speakeasy serving specialty sake and creative cocktails. The space is filled with Japanese decor, anime playing on a vintage TV, and an impressive collection of lucky cats. It’s a great spot to grab a drink before or after dinner upstairs, or sit back, relax, and enjoy one of Omaha’s most unique speakeasy experiences!

MENU
Kaitei’s menu features a wide selection of sake along with creative specialty cocktails. We had to check it out for ourselves and tried the Magic & Muscles, and unfiltered sake mixed with rum, vanilla, and chamomile, and it was delicious! If you’re looking for unique sips that go beyond the typical bar menu, you need to add this spot to your list of places to try!

LOCATION & HOURS
Kaitei is located in Benson underneath Ika Ramen at 6109 1/3 Maple St. They are open Tuesday - Thursday from 5pm - 12am, Friday - Saturday from 5pm - 2am, and Sunday from 5pm - 12am. Kaitei is closed on Mondays.

Close of the 2025 holiday season with 12th Night at the Castle, a madrigal-style evening held inside the historic Joslyn Castle. Enjoy music and theatrical performances by Cantare! Omaha, appearances by Queen Elizabeth and Lord Dudley, and a classic Mummer’s Play performed by Bellevue Dance Academy. All proceeds support Cantare! Omaha’s outreach mission.⁠

ABOUT CANTARE!⁠
Cantare! Omaha is a local nonprofit that brings music to Omaha residents who are unable to attend public concerts. Each holiday season, their performers visit assisted living communities, nursing homes, and veterans apartments to share Christmas carols with homebound individuals.⁠

Dinner is catered by Catering Creations and includes a salad, rolls, a dual entree of beef and chicken, seasonal sides, and non-alcoholic wassail. Vegetarian and vegan options are available! Cakes will be provided by Buttered Marshmallow, with a cash bar available!⁠

12th Night at the Castle takes place at Joslyn Castle, located at 3902 Davenport St. This two-night event runs Friday, January 2nd and Saturday, January 3rd, with doors and the cash bar opening at 5:30 PM and entertainment beginning at 6:00 PM. Jay's Games & Beer Garden IN BLACKSTONE IS A GO-TO FOR GAME DAY WATCH PARTIES, DRINKS, AND LATE-NIGHT BITES

Jay’s Games & Beer Garden is the go-to spot for game day watch parties, especially for Creighton games, with plenty of TVs, good drinks, and game day specials. From pre-game hangouts to watching every big play, it’s a great spot to spend the day, whether you’re inside or out in their outdoor beer garden. Jay’s also goes beyond game days with live music, DJs, and regular events throughout the year, including themed parties like their tropical Christmas party on Christmas Day. And if you’re ordering food, the Dino Nuggets are a must-try!

HOLIDAY HOURS & EVENTS
Jay’s is hosting a tropical Christmas party on Christmas Day, featuring island-themed food, drinks, and decor. They’ll open at 7pm and stay open until 2am. The event is 21+, has no cover, and make sure to wear an island-themed outfit for a chance to win a $100 gift card!

Jay’s will also open at 4pm on New Year’s Eve and stay open until 2am, making it a great spot to ring in the New Year!

MENU
Jay’s menu is filled with fun food and drinks that will make you feel like a kid again. Their Dino Nuggets are a huge hit, and when we stopped by we tried the loaded pub fries, pretzel, and pepperoni pizza, along with the Blasty Blast to drink. Everything was super fun and tasty, and with food available until just an hour before close, it’s a great late-night spot!

Jay’s is located in Blackstone at 3724 Farnam St. They’re open Monday - Wednesday from 4pm - 1am, Thursday - Friday from 4pm - 2am, Saturday from 11am - 2am, and Sunday from 11am - 1am.

SKIING AT Crescent Hill at Hitchcock IS OFFICIALLY OPEN FOR THE SEASON, BRINGING WINTER FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

Skiing at Crescent Hill is officially open for the season, offering skiing, snowboarding, and sledding just 20 minutes from the Omaha area. Lessons are available for beginners and those looking to level up their skills, making it a great spot for all skill levels. Tickets are on sale now, and don’t miss Santa at Crescent Hill from 10am - 12pm on Christmas Eve for photos and a sweet treat!

Tickets, rentals, season passes, and lessons can all be purchased online. Season passes include access to skiing, snowboarding, and sledding all season long, plus the perk of skipping lines.
