Congratulations to this week’s Storm Spotlight, varsity track star, senior Lennah Kathol.

Lennah has participated in track for several years, and during that time, she has made large strides towards her goals of success. Kathol runs the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 4x100-meter relay races, and her PRs are as follows, respectively: 12.10 seconds, 25.27 seconds, 47.87 seconds. In the 4x100-meter relay, Lennah and her fellow relay runners hold the school record. For Lennah, running the relay is easily her favorite race. “It’s one of the most hyped up events at the meets, and my team never lets us down, and we continue to break our record every time we run it!” Kathol said. Along with excelling on the track, Kathol is also a part of NHS, SADD, Pep Club, and has been featured on the honor roll for her academic accomplishments. When asked about her routines before each track meet, Lennah replied, “The night before each meet I ice, stretch, and mentally prepare for the day to come…I have to have my hair styled the same way every time I compete, and I need to drink a Red Bull before my first race.” Unfortunately, Lennah’s senior track season will be her last. She plans to attend the University of Lincoln, which she expects will be an exciting new chapter in her life! Good luck, Lennah, with the rest of your track season! ⚡️

Congratulations to this week’s Storm Spotlight, varsity soccer player and Creighton commit, junior Gabby Wagenfuhr!

Gabby has played soccer her entire life, which has proven to have paid off as she is extremely talented. Wagenfuhr was nominated for having scored five goals across the span of just two games, which also happened to be two of their hardest games of the season. Gabby leads her team with a total of nine goals scored. Additionally, Gabby has managed to make the Class A All-State team, currently holds the school record for goals per game, and has been nominated as offensive player of the year. Gabby very much enjoys soccer and continues to excel as a student-athlete here at Elkhorn South. “[My favorite part about soccer is] playing with my teammates and having [Lindsay] Aliano as my coach,” Wagenfuhr said. As mentioned before, Gabby plans on continuing her athletic and academic career at the University of Creighton, which is a huge accomplishment. Congratulations, Gabby, on a great season, and continue to lead the Storm to success! Good luck and ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Congratulations to this week’s Storm Spotlight, your prom queen, senior Cheyenne Harris!

Harris is a great example of how to be a great student while being an even better person. She is always doing the right thing, even if no one is watching, which exemplifies great leadership. Cheyenne stays busy by being involved in Show Choir, National Honors Society, and Senior Class Board. In the classroom, Harris puts in the work and has managed to be on the Honor Roll all four years of high school. Additionally, Cheyenne feels extremely grateful to be named Prom Queen. “To be voted for Prom Queen means a lot! It means that every positive interaction I’ve had with my peers and friends has made a difference and hasn’t gone unnoticed,” Harris said. After high school, Cheyenne is planning on attending the University of Nebraska-Omaha and will major in Pre-Nursing while minoring in Spanish. Thank you, Cheyenne, for being a leader here at Elkhorn South and never failing to put a smile on others’ faces! Good luck at UNO, and continue being awesome! ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️

Congratulations to this week’s Storm Spotlight, your prom king, senior Barron Stine!

Stine is a leader here at Elkhorn South because of his involvement and leadership skills. Barron strives to be his best self each and every day by being kind to all and having a strong work ethic. Not only this, but Stine is very involved in his school community. Barron participates in varsity football and varsity track and partakes in SADD, Pep Club, and Senior Class Board while also being a DECA officer. While staying involved, Stine is an Honor Roll student, displaying excellence in and out of the classroom. Just this past weekend, Barron Stine was awarded the honor of being named Prom King. “It was truly a blessing. I feel honored that so many people would vote for me, and I am thankful for everyone I made connections with over the last four years. All glory to God,” Barron said. Stine plans on attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln this fall while majoring in business law to eventually go into sports or family law. Good luck to Barron this track season and in all of his future endeavors, and thank you for being an exemplary student at South! ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️

In the Storm’s game against Bellevue West last Tuesday, Musil hit a game-winning three run homerun at the top of the 7th inning.
