Post-Doctoral Research Associate
University of Nebraska

Post-doctoral research associate is available immediately to work in the laboratory of Dr. Irving H.
Zucker in the Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology at the University of Nebraska Medical
Center in Omaha, NE. This position is funded by multiple collaborative NIH grants. The focus of our lab is
to understand the regulation of autonomic and cardiovascular function by antioxidant mechanisms in
both disease states (heart failure, hypertension) and during the aging process. The role of exercise
training in these processes is also an interest of the laboratory. Central to many of these studies is a
focus on the anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory transcription factor, Nrf2 and how organs communicate
through extra vesicular pathways. A doctoral degree is required and the candidate should be proficient
in whole animal surgical techniques (rodents), molecular biology and various aspects of
electrophysiology and hemodynamics.
Applications must be submitted online at https://unmc.peopleadmin.com/62592. For additional
information on the position, please contact Dr. Irving Zucker at [email protected]. The review of
applications will continue until the position is filled. Individuals from diverse backgrounds are
encouraged to apply. Required Qualifications PhD (or equivalent degree) in a relevant area of
physiology, molecular biology, and various aspects of electrophysiology and hemodynamics. Should also
be proficient in whole animal surgical techniques (rodents).
