Smokey needs a home! Contact the Nebraska Humane Society

Adopted!!! Hi! I am Smokey and today we're celebrating Mature Monday! I'm one of the most unique dogs at the shelter. I am some sort of terrier mix and I always look like I have bed-head! At 13 I am mature and mannerly. I don't need to be entertained although I love to go for strolling walks. Here at the shelter I've been walking with some of the other mature dogs and we do just great! I'm not big on playing and the rowdy dogs are just too much. I can entertain myself just nosing around the yard exploring and then it's inside to flop down on the rug. The dog walkers say I am gentle, and calm and I'd have to agree. Stop in and meet me today!

So IMPORTANT!

I know you probably hear this every year, but since so many folks still do this, it bears repeating. PLEASE don't leave your dog in a car in the summer. Cracking the window does not help. Dogs body temperature is around 102 degrees and they are covered in fur. Doing this can cause permanent damage or even death in as few as 5-10 minutes! If you love your dog, leave him at home where he can be happy and cool and there to greet you with a wagging tail when you get home. :)
