I watched both political conventions with keen interest.

It was nice to see the D’s take back the language of freedom and democracy this week. Nice job.

There was a discussion on CNN that the R’s have Greenwood’s God Bless the USA.

Known for his rich styling, B.B. King described Peter Green's (Greenbaum) guitar playing, "He has the sweetest tone I ever heard; he was the only one who gave me the cold sweats."

Long before Buckingham and Nicks joined, Peter's Green's Fleetwood Mac Blues Band dominated the English blues scene. Like the Yardbirds, Green's band included a litany of notable rock guitarists over the years including Green, Jeremy Spencer, Danny Kirwan, Bob Welch (Sentimental Lady), Lindsay Buckingham, Mike Campbell (Heartbreakers), Billy Burnette, Rick Vito, and Neil Finn (Crowded House, Split Enz).

In 1996 Mojo Magazine voted Green the 3rd best guitarist of all time (behind Jimi Hendrix #1 and Steve Cropper (Stax) #2). Green would replace Clapton in John Mayall's Blues Breakers before pilfering the rhythm section, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, to form Fleetwood Mac.
