Things are picking up here at Schafer's Marine Services! The crews are out on the lakes and rivers getting everyone buttoned up for winter.

As the season comes to a close, we would like to thank everyone for another great year. We truly appreciate being able to spend time on the water in this beautiful area we call home.

We’re proud to have completed work on the 350-acre Sam Gordy’s Slough backwater complex in Pool 6 of the Mississippi River, right across from Winona, MN.

Our team helped restore year-round fish passage and oxygen-rich waters for bass, bluegill, crappie, and northern pike. Key improvements included constructing a rock deflector, dredging the inlet, and armoring the banks — all designed to support long-term habitat health and recreation.

Honored to partner with the DNR and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on this impactful project!

Schafer's Marine Services is hiring for the summer! We are looking for Deckhands to work on the barge, help with installations, rip rap, shoreline work, you name it. This is a temporary, flexible position, with work starting as soon as the ice melts.

Schafer’s Marine Services is a company based out of Lake Onalaska in Onalaska Wisconsin. Owned and operated by Chad and Mark Knapmiller, Schafer’s Marine Services was founded on a need not only for residents on the lake and river that he has come to know but for Chads business Schafer’s River Rentals. Owning and operating Schafer’s River Rentals quickly presented problems and solutions in the marine services industry. His business operating mainly around rentals of watercraft meant everything from shorelines to water conditions across the lake and river effected him. Enter Schafer’s Marine Services. Schafer’s Marine Services is excited to be able to provide shoreline property owners throughout the area with an array of services to solve any problem or need you have. Based around our two main pieces of equipment our crane barge and aquatic w**d harvester we hope to be able to solve problems for shoreline owners and offer services previously not available. Whether the job big or small we strive for the best customer service and personable experience.
