THURSDAY WEATHER: 🌧️ Rain comes to an end today.
• Sunrise/Sunset: 7:58/6:44.• Average temps: 64°/37°. Records: 82° (1971), 18° (1976).• Year-To-Date Rainfall: 51.9” (Normal: 48.2”).
☔️ DETAILS: A very wet stretch of October weather will end today, as rain slowly tapers off. There’s a 70% chance of rain, but that’s primarily for the early morning hours, and there won’t be much of it. Rain should have moved out by mid-morning, and almost certainly will be gone by lunchtime. After that, we’ll see breezy conditions, with wind gusts to 20 mph. Temperatures will be nearly steady in the mid to upper 40s. It’ll be dry but cold tonight for high school football games in Maryville and Sweetwater, with temperatures dropping into the 30s before the games end.
🌤 THE WEEKEND: We’ll see pretty good weather for the weekend. Tomorrow will be mostly sunny with a high of 54•, although winds will still be gusting to around 20 mph. Saturday will see a bit more cloud cover and a bit warmer temperatures, as we top out around 57°. There’s a very slight chance of rain Saturday night and first thing Sunday morning, but it won’t rain much. We’ll see partly sunny skies and a high of about 58° Sunday.
🌤 NEXT WEEK: Warmer temperatures will return to start next week, reaching the low 60s by Monday and the mid 60s by Wednesday. We will see some slight chances of light rain Tuesday night and Wednesday, but for the most part we’ll be dry next week. It’s starting to look very warm late next week and next weekend, with 70s possibly creeping back into the forecast.
FURTHER OUT: We’ll stay very warm until the next cold front arrives, which currently looks like it might be around Nov. 11.
🥶 FROST/FREEZE WATCH: There’s a very slight chance of some light frost Halloween night. But a hard freeze doesn’t look like it’ll happen for at least the next couple of weeks.
🌀HURRICANE WATCH: Hurricane Melissa has now cleared the Bahamas and will continue moving northeast as no threat to the U.S. mainland, slowly weakening to tropical storm status over the weekend. Otherwise, the tropics are very quiet, and this could very well be the last gasp of the 2025 hurricane season, though the season doesn’t officially end until the end of November.
