Extreme Heat Forecast in Multiple Locations Across New York Saturday, July 12, according to the state Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services.

Feels-like temperatures are forecast to be between 90 and 95 degrees in Otsego County, and even hotter in some areas.

Keep children and pets in air conditioning if possible. IF OUTSIDE: wear light-colored loose clothing and a hat. NEVER leave children or pets in a car.

If you have signs of heat stroke, seek medical attention immediately. Signs of a heat stroke are:

Extremely high body temperatures
Red, hot, and dry skin with no sweat.
Rapid, strong pulse
Dizziness, confusion, or unconsciousness.

The Daily Star, based in Oneonta, is a daily morning newspaper that circulates in a four-county area in central New York state.

The Daily Star publishes in print Tuesday through Saturday, with updates daily on its website. Additionally the Daily Star publishes two weekly newspapers, The Cooperstown Crier and The Weekly Star; a seasonal magazine, Upstate Life; an online entertainment guide, The Scene; and numerous specialty sections throughout the year

The Greater Oneonta area is found in the northwestern section of the Catskill Mountains in the Susquehanna River valley, approximately midway between Albany and Binghamton.

People come to the region to enjoy The Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, and numerous summer baseball camps in a 25-mile radius of Oneonta.
