Manila, located in the Phillipines, was the first true world city. Connecting people from Africa, Asia and Europe, and transporting goods to 6 out of 7 continents. Resources from the Americas were brought to the city, sold in exchange for Chinese, Indian, Persian, or Japanese goods, brought back to Mexico, transported by wagon across Panama, and transported back to Spain, to be sold to the rest of Europe. Gold and other remaining goods from the Ameorcas made it back to India, the ottomans, and Persia… and the cycle continued.
