Incidents like this are why National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) are keeping the theme focused on Lithium Ion Batteries.. with a little more than a month to go, what is your dept doing to get geared up for Fire Prevention Week?

🔥 LANDFILL FIRE UPDATE

A discarded lithium battery sparked a fire covering about 100 yards at the New Hanover County landfill Thursday morning, according to landfill officials.

Are you just getting the basics in your training? 🤔

If you're only doing your monthly training, you're only scratching the surface. Basic skills are great, but when it comes to tough situations, you need more than just the basics to perform well.

As firefighters, we must be ready for anything. If you want to be a basic firefighter, that's all you'll ever be. But we aren't called to be basic.. ?

Every fire alarm activation is a chance to get those reps in. Why not take advantage of it?

❤️ Standing With the Franklin Family & Salisbury Fire

There are moments when words simply aren't enough.

Our hearts and prayers are with TCFW August Episode Guest, Chief Lauran Franklin, her family, and the Salisbury Fire Department family, following the tragic loss of her husband, Shawn.

In times like this, we hold tightly to the promise of God's presence, even when we don't understand His plan:

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

We pray for God's peace that surpasses understanding, His comfort for those who are hurting, and His strength for the days ahead, especially in the quiet time.

Chief Franklin, you are not walking through this alone. The entire Carolina Watch Family is here for you!

Today, after setting up our booth, we had a late lunch and walked through Nash Square.. As we did .. I walked through the North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation Memorial. As I walked past and after touching a name or two… I couldn’t help but reflect on how blessed I felt to have the best career in the world. How about you…? Be sure to show some love to those guys while at the show!

Tonight, thanks to Atlantic Emergency Solutions and Provident , board members from the ncstatefirefightersassociation said thank you to a host of volunteers that put on South Atlantic FIRE RESCUE Exp if it wasn’t for these members, the conference wouldn’t be possible.

Salsbury Fire Dept's Battalion Chief Lauran Franklin shares her accounts of a home explosion that injured her and 11 others... You can find out all the details in this month's episode!

She told us "One of the engine crew asked, "How's it looking?" I could feel the heat and knew we were getting a hit on the fire. The commander reported, "You've got good conversion. It looks like it's lighting up!"

With our fourth engine covering the Charlie side, we were making progress, but there was still a bit of fire left to tackle.

As I turned to ask for another line, everything exploded." It was a moment of chaos, but we were ready.
