I decided to swing by and see the aftermath of this weeks fire at a local business. I watched it from a far, and this one was different, if you know anything about Jacksonville, the owners of the furniture stores are local names.

They are small business, they are people who often give second chances when others won’t.. I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to leave where I was to come and help in whatever way I could.. I worked in this community and partly still do.. Great work by all those involved!

For me, it’s been moments like last month when we learned how NFPA 704 got its number, or about how codes and standards have evolved across the state, or even unique apparatus like where and when fire boats have traveled across the state and country !
