It's been a super long journey getting things set up at the university to move MiniQuadTestBench towards a student employment opportunity, but it's getting close! The emergency stop is working and a protection cage is coming this weekend. Meanwhile new testing is underway after calibration verification in the new environment. Finally got the production version of this frame built up! I've been flying the prototype as a sub 250g build , but I didn't limit myself on this one. Most of the parts are spares I've had laying around for a while, but it still flies great! Works great on 4S, still working out some kinks on 5S.

- Heli-Nation Talon F4 V2 FC
- Aikon AK32 PIN 35A flashed to AM32
- T-Motor F20II 3750kv
- IRC Ghost Zepto flashed to ELRS
- DJI O3

Came out pretty sweet! All-up weight with 5S 650mAh is 312g.

Got some good work done this weekend! Refurbed an old analog 3" build I had laying around and updated 3 Aikon 20x20 ESCs to AM32. If you have any of the Aikon AK32 PIN ESCs laying around, the F051 PB4 bootloader and the Aikon AK32 Single F051 firmware works perfectly. Check the photos for the pins. These had an old early beta version of BLHeli32 from when we were just experimenting with RPM filtering and they didn't work with the latest versions of bidirectional DShot, so it was a necessary upgrade. Got back 3 functional ESCs! Pretty slick little 3" analog freestyle rig as well. Who remembers those Cobra Champions!?

Another whoop joins the family. Big thanks to for the parts! Trying out the new 0703 23000kv motors on 35mm props. Not going to lie this thing flies amazing with a lot more flexibility than my 31mm in 0702, and gets better flight times. The 0702 basically has to use the 31mm HQ ultralight props only to fly well and still struggles at times. The 35mm props on the larger motors feels more in control even though it's 3g heavier, but you definitely feel the momentum. I'm going to drop the 31mm setup into a lighter frame, but for now I'm super happy with this new setup.

In other news I used an old beat up cam/VTX combo from an original Babyhawk, and I'm surprised at how much I like it. I was able to repin the connector on the bottom to get full OSD support and I think I like the picture better than the Pinch that is in my other tinywhoop. The picture is clearer and less saturated when comparing the two, the Emax is just a heavier camera by a bit. The 35mm setup handles it fine though.

Anyway a fun build this weekend! Hope you all got some flying in!

Been flying this early prototype of the GetFPV Lumenier Johnny FPV QAV-S 2 for over 6 months now. Put some new shoes on it a few weeks ago, trying out these AMAXshop Competition Bando 2306 2550kv motors, and they definitely haven't disappointed. Big thanks to AMAX for sending them to me to check out.

I'm still flying some of the original AMAX motors on a few of my setups, and I've always been pretty impressed with their stuff. These seem to be following in the same vein. They've done some interesting stuff with the way they protect the lower bell section, adding material where the strength is needed without adding so much that the weight goes way up. They also do a great job of making sure the magnets stay secure even under abuse. The fact they were able to accomplish what they have with a sub 32g motor is pretty impressive honestly. The finish on these is beautiful as well, though to be honest I miss the black and gold from some of their earlier stuff a bit!

4S 2550kv is probably my favorite combination, especially on snappy props like the Gemfan Hurricane X props. I was upgrading from Emax FS2306 2400kv motors which are lower Kv than I usually run, so moving back to the extra pop is nice. I'm super excited to finally be able to share this beast. We've been working on this design for almost a year, and it has been worth the wait. I've been flying the prototype for months now and it has rapidly become the first drone I grab! Absolutely killer frame!
