As the force behind the CoLab coworking space in downtown Opelika, she creates room for creatives, entrepreneurs, and dreamers to gather, collaborate, and grow. RC Hagans is one of the first people I met when I moved to Opelika, and someone I’ve loved watching work over the years.

His art lives at the intersection of fine, folk, and street art. A former cage-fighter, he draws on religion, pop culture, punk rock, and conspiracy theories to create work that feels raw, layered, and deeply personal.

The first photograph I took of RC in 2015 caught him exactly where he thrives in motion, in tension, in his wild element. He has always pushed boundaries, both physical and creative.

I took this image before I even became a professional photographer, and his work continues to inspire me. I’m honored to capture people whose art and energy push me forward.

There’s something special about families who grow up in the heart of Waverly. Maybe it’s the way the streets feel like a small town inside a bigger world… or maybe it’s the way kids here run wild with a kind of freedom you don’t see everywhere anymore.

The Frye Family is exactly that kind of magic. Three boys with big imaginations, easy laughter, and the kind of brotherhood that keeps you smiling through the whole session. Their home, their energy, their love — it all made this session feel like stepping into a little slice of their everyday life.

Kicking off sharing more of my work with one of my favorite humans — my friend John Howell.

John is a custom metal fabricator and the artist behind , creating luxury wine storage, antique glass walls, and handcrafted furniture. He also happens to be one of the most photogenic people I know.

He and his wife, Lacey, are dear friends we spend summers with on Lake Martin and even sail the BVI together.
