🚨 Is Dana Point Harbor’s hotel project ever going to break ground?👇🏻

The County of Orange Board of Supervisors met on June 23, 2026:
-A key ground lease vote needed to secure hotel financing was delayed
-Developer R.D. Olson Development says work on the hotels is now stopped
-The proposed hotels are The Doheny (Marriott Autograph Collection) and The Salt Haus (Orange County’s first Marriott Moxy), names announced on June 1.
-The Harbor revitalization is now projected to cost $705,288,781, more than doubled since the 2018 Request for Proposals.

🚨Irvine residents to receive free parking👇🏻

6/23/26: The Irvine City Council /Great Park Board voted 6-1 to provide all Irvine residents with up to four hours of free parking at the Great Park, expanding the proposal that originally would have limited the benefit to Great Park residents only.

(On August 12, 2025, the Board voted unanimously to approve the Great Park Parking Management Strategy and directed staff to move forward with a Great Park parking operating system.)

🚨Great Park’s first bridge could soon move forward👇🏻

📅 On June 23, the Irvine City Council and Great Park Board will consider awarding a construction contract for the Great Park Bosque Pedestrian Bridge City of Irvine

The proposed bridge would cross Great Park Boulevard and connect Bosque trails with key Great Park destinations

-Recommended construction contract: $7.5 million
-Total estimated project cost: $10.4 million (including contingencies and project management)

🚶‍♀️ The 227-foot bridge is intended to improve pedestrian access and connectivity throughout the Great Park
