15 Years of Work, Relationships, and Experience
Over the past 15 years, the Stellar Awards have continued to evolve, with changes in hosts, venues, production styles, and generations of gospel music artists. Akintunde’s involvement has taken different forms during that time. Rather than being defined by one particular role, his relationship with the Stellar Awards has been shaped by the variety of opportunities to contribute—as a comedian, writer, presenter, production host, and interviewer. For Akintunde, the experience represents an important part of his professional journey in gospel entertainment. It has provided opportunities to work alongside talented artists and production teams while contributing to an event that holds significance for the gospel music community. The television audience may see the finished production, but an awards show is ultimately the result of many people working together—on camera, backstage, in the control room, and throughout the theater. For more than a decade, Akintunde has simply been grateful to have had a place among those helping bring the Stellar Awards experience to life.
Says Akintunde, "I didn't even realize it has been 15 years, but I've been blessed to serve the gospel and greater Christian Community. And the most important benefit for me has been watching the maestro, Mr. Don Jackson, produce such a high quality event and create a legacy."
